"Ihiding in metal plates " reference to plate armour (protective gear) "held together alone, don't wait" i'm holding together this shielding of emotion, but don't wait up( i don't want you to see me hurting) "Hide with me identity" no one can know who i really am, how i really feel the last sequence just speaks of the collapse of emotional shielding people hold up. I don't know if it relates to any on speciifically. really i'm just a bullshit artist when it comes to lyrical interpretation but thats what i'm getting from it the song is effing gorgeous. |

as always, could be wrong but this is my view. this song is a conjunction between Claudio the writing writer, and Claudio: the crowing. "you're going home, you're running free.... spend your time well before you go, here in hell" speaks to the freedom they will both inherit via the end of this misadventure. first verse: did it bleed, was it sore, through the struggles you've endured..." all of this speaks to the writers pain and anguish , all of which lead TWW to writing of this story. second verse: was it grief, that pushed your heart through struggles you've endured. basically my own grief of my recent past , though i wasn't strong enough to push on my self, i will make you , the crowing, push though these struggles of essentially facing the world; losing your life. in going home , and"running free" you will be liberated of earthly struggles, your path lies ahead (mother superior, :you're time has come to pick the road, you walk in this tale) |

OK, Ten Speedd isn't attempting to confuse any one. The Writing Writer is claudio as the Author of the Story that this whole world is created in, the one with The Crowing as the Protaganist. There are two worlds sung of in this album. The world of the writing writer, and the crowing. Ten Speed of gods blood and burial is the mental deliberation that the writing writer has about what the next step is. Confused, the Writing Writer thinks he should kill off Erica, the encarnation of nikki owen (Claudio Sanchez' ex) in his world, but he discovers that what needs to happen in order for The Crowing to realize his potential is he needs to kill of the encarnation of erica in the world of the crowing (ambelina, who represents the good in the relationship had with Erica) so it's decided eventually that he will enter the crowings world and kill Ambelina also, he isn't using mind powers, he is the creator of those in the corwing's world and simply "writes/draws ito the story" her death. thats why it happens iwht a wave of his hand in the comic" |
