| The Distillers – The Hunger Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I was told this song was about a heroin addiction Brody went through. | |
| Tapping The Vein – Sugarfalls Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The song, to me, is about how if something great happens to you "sugar falls all over me" she'll still wait for something more, she won't see the good in it and just pass it by and know that it could always be better. | |
| Zao – Exchange Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I'm not a Christian, but I dig Zao. I love that they know their convictions and know why and what they believe. I think that's fantastic. Also, they didn't follow most Christian singers and go all softcore because hardcore music is perceved as "Satanic". Well, Zao is fantastic. |

| Nelly – Air Force Ones Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Fuck ending the comment... It's a five minute commercial! Half of it isn't coherant... "O.. k li, I treat my shoe like my ride (Big boy) chrome on the fat laces at what wood on the inside (Big boy) spray candy on the swoosh With the electric roof " If you compare two things, make the fucking analogy sensical! "fish bowlin um all"? What does that mean? "I like the all white high top strap with the gum bottom (Big boy) theres somthin bout dem that's dirty why I got em (Big boy) I leave um strapped and laced and come up out um (Big boy) the last person that touched um I been shot um, (big boy)" Basically... he said "I tie my own shoes, and I shot someone for touching them... so instead of getting their hands on them... I have now gotten blood on them and ruined them." If you scuff your shoes, the night is ruined? How many of you actually can HONESTLY SAY you pay a lot of attention to shoes when you're out at the club? Now, here's the thing that it says to me in this whole song... "We are worse than women... all we care about is shoes and clothes... but we're from the streets." No... sorry DMX is from the streets... and guess what? He still isn't obsessed with shoes and clothes "We know how much your watch costs". 2pac... same thing. ODB... guess what? Same thing. |

| Nelly – Air Force Ones Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Before anyone calls me an idiot... I wasn't reading the lyrics to a song I dispise, I was reading the comments to the songs I dispise, trying to see who could try to get some meaning out of the song. First off: This song is about shoes! Who gives a fuck?! EVERYONE HAS SHOES! I have some boots but I'm not spending hours of songwriting time, production time, and costs of renting a studio... ON FUCKING SHOES! Second: What's the obsession with white on white shoes... then when they get dirty or scuffed... people will actually fist-fight over them. If you don't want your shoes scuffed... DON'T BUY WHITE SHOES ASSHOLE! Holy shit, they get dirty, you walk in dirt and the street and everywhere... shoes get fucking dirty! Get it? Didn't think so. "But they look cool!" WELL SHIT! HOW SHALLOW CAN YOU BE! "I'm from the streets, I live in the ghetto..." I LIVED IN THE GHETTO... WE DIDN'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT SHOES... WE WEREN'T PICKY... WE WERE POOR! Before I start shooting everyone with white shoes... and listening to them all say, with their dying breath... "I'ma get you, you made me bleed on my shoes, bitch..."... I'm gonna stop this comment. |

| Good Charlotte – The Anthem Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I noticed you, mindlessTart, commenting on the "Talk Show on Mute" page. I just had to see what other inane drivel you had to put on other pages. Well, I did notice, while downing one whole group of people, you spelled "stupid" as "stoopid". Also, just because a cross tattoo is on a person, it doesn't necessarily mean they are Christian, crosses are for many things. If you had bothered to read any other lyrics besides the "throw up your hands" line, you'd know the song is much different than you had interpreted it to be. I've never even heard the song and I can still tell that. Frankly, Good Charlotte isn't punk, but I'll leave those comments to myself, and another thing, the type of music you preform doesn't define the religion you must be. Ever heard of Zao? They're a Christian band, but they sure don't "sound" it. A Good Charlotte concert in the Middle East would be fun for everyone, first, we'd get those fucks out of America, secondly, they may get shot! I guess I'll stop myself before I start in on how being Christian and prejudiced is completely fucked up and wrong. Before anyone starts in on me using "dirty words" and being a Christian... I'm not a Christian... I just know more about it than most people. |

| Incubus – Talk Shows on Mute Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Take a bow Pack on powder Wash 'em out with buzzing lights Pay an audience to care Impress me personality [This part here, about our TV nation, we watch, we're impressed, we're paid with grand fabulous prizes to give a shit about what's going on... kind of a reality TV thing] Still and transfixed The electric sheep, Are dreaming of your face Enjoy you from the chemical Comfort of America [Electric Sheep... that's easy... we consume... and what do we consume (besides oil)? Electricity... all of us herd to our lightswitches, our computers, our TV's, our music, like sheep. Chemical comfort of America... our Pepsi... our Coke... our Oil... our McDonalds... all these are our chemicals... our drugs.] Come one Come all Into 1984 Yeah, three, two, one Lights, camera, transaction [1984... obviously a reference to George Orwell's book of the same name. The book is a commentary about how the world would be if the government got too much power. This govenrmnet in the book lied, very blaintently, to the people (about wars with various countries... one country was fighting quite a few countries at various times and for various reasons). This country in 1984 also tried to condence the language to "Newspeak"... a language without words they felt as "unnecessary" (any synonyms, mostly very bland words such as "good" and "ungood" there was no bad, no horrible, no great, no exceptional... this was to not cause a ruckus). Lights, camera.... referring to TV... transaction... a transaction of thoughts... and the way WE AS AMERICANS get our thoughts is through TV.] Quick, your time is almost up Make all forget that they're the moths Edging in, towards the flame Burn into obscurity [I think this is a U.S. vs. the World reference] Still and transfixed the electric sheep are dreaming up your fate We judge you from the card castle comfort of America [Card Castle Comfort of America... how easily we can be blown down, but we're too comfortable. An empire like Rome. We can be taken down like anyone else... look at 9/11.] Come one Come all Into 1984 Yeah, three, two, one Lights, camera... Come one Come all To 1984 Yeah, three, two, one Lights, camera, transaction The foundation is canyoning Fault lines should be worn with pride I hate to say it You're so much more You're so much more Endearing with the sound turned off [People endeared themselves to Bush for a name and a friendly face... not for what hea said "You're so much more endearing with the sound turned off." The foundation of his wars, his Vietnam service, everything about him is canyoning... going down. His cracks, his faults, his blemishes, his fuck ups... should be revealed to the people to get his ass out.] |

| A Perfect Circle – Judith Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
By the way... Although the "Army" interpretations were good, I think that the "It's not like you killed someone" line is just about Christ, as it does go on to say "It's not like you drove a hateful spear into His side". The Romans killed Christ by shoving a spear into his side and up into his heart. |
|
| A Perfect Circle – Judith Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is not about Christianity, nor is it about Christians. It's just about people that know shit about their own religion. Christianity is used in the song because most of the world is Christian, or at least knows about it. It's about people who aren't educated about their religion and clueless about what they're dying for, talking about, or following. | |
| A Perfect Circle – Pet Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
In my mind, this song could just as well be called "Judith II". The songs are very similar in structure and sound, (the rougher guitars in particular). "Don't fret precious, I'm here"- God talking, telling his "child" that it is there "Go back to sleep"- "sleep"... like the state of unawareness, lack of control, unquestioning "I won't let the boogeyman come"- I won't let anything happen to you "Pay no mind to what other [religions] say" "Safe from pain, truth, and choice, and other poison devils/They don't give a fuck about you like I do"- Safe from all these things as long as you put your faith in whatever god may be, the fact god says "fuck" makes the holiness hypocritical ... go on and on and on... it parallels with God. ObsessiveTendencies... that interpretation was good as well. God, or Bush, or advertising, or parents, or addiction... anything with control is what this song is about I guess... anything in which the "I" is the dominating piece, and the "you" is the weaker part. |

| Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This is probabily wrong, and more for a song on "Wish You Were Here"... but... meh. The first verse "Hello, is there anybody in there?/Just nod if you can hear me" and that whole bit... I get a picture of Syd getting talked to by friends, family and therepists after he lost it. Verse 2: Waters or Gilmour on how they have accepted the fact that Syd is gone, but it still isn't really okay... it's just comfortably numb. Verse 3: They substitute heroin for acid when talking through an unknown third person (or a subconcious/spiritual being) helping Syd trip and "get through the show" or write another song, or go on, or whatever. Verse 4: "You are coming through waves" Syd's first person, listening to the sound waves from a Pink Floyd album. "When I was a child/I caught a fleeting glimpse/But now it's gone...the dream is gone/And I have become/Comfortably numb/" Syd's acceptance of his state and the fact he's not in Pink Floyd (although it's rumored that acceptance still hasn't sunk in with Syd). He had the dream, now it's gone. |

| Pink Floyd – Chapter 24 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is chapter 24 of the Tao... or the I-Ching... I forgot which. Either way, it's a religious book that Syd found facinating... and he decided to make a song about it. | |
| Pink Floyd – Welcome to the Machine Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song, as Waters said, is about the record industry, just like "Freak on a Leash" or a number of other songs. I believe it can have multiple meanings too, much like the government, (espiecally in post-Patriot Act America). We're not far from "1984" or the Soviet Union, or even Nazi Germany, the song is a self-fulfilling prophecy. | |
| Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Many people think this song is about "fuck school" or something along those lines. Someone... I forgot who... mentioned that "we don't need no education" is a double-negative, I believe this has a lot to do with the song. It is more of a "fuck the way the schools are currently being run" thing, mostly how they're taking out the creative aspects of school and making it more of a factory setting with a this-is-this-isn't setup. Also, I think he's making a commentary on the teachers lacking passion, as well as the students being bored and becoming apathetic as well because of the teachers. | |
| Pink Floyd – Bike Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| According to Waters (I think it was Waters), it was about Syd and a girl he was dating at the time. Waters said "this is the closest thing to love Syd ever had". Obviously the song is very drug induced. I find the song very quirky and extraordinarily unique, almost without rythem, but still does have it in its own way. I don't think any of the items have any particular meaning, but, with the gingerbread men thing...Syd was on acid... 'nuff said. | |
| Dead Kennedys – Chickenshit Conformist Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| This song, as many of you have already stated, IS ONE OF THE BEST DK SONGS EVER! But, this song is not, I repeat NOT exclusively about punk. Jello talks about rap, ("most racist and queerbashing bands they can find"), rock ("Same old stupid sexist lyrics/Or is Satan all you can think of?") and basically any other music you can think of. This song is about PUTTING YOUR HEART AND SOUL INTO MUSIC! I agree completely, any music is great if there is heart and soul behind every word, some groups that would annoy the shit out of me don't, because of the fact that they have soul, some of the groups that would have talent or potential suck because they don't. Simple as that. | |
| KoЯn – Thoughtless Lyrics | 23 years ago |

The "monkey back against the wall" part is gibberish. That's why there's the tongue roll at the end... it's gibberish. This song is so cool... it's so fuckin cool... nuff said. xPurgatory 7x |

| Jack Off Jill – Bruises Are Back In Style (Dirty Panties Mix) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Badass mother fucking song. | |
| KoЯn – Daddy Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
Jon's parents must have been some dumb shits to not even care. To think your kid is joking about that is just ignorant as fuck. He only sang this live twice because he'd freak out on stage and shit and he couldn't go on with the concerts after he sang it. |
|
| KoЯn – Dead Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I think that it says "every time i get head" because a lot of the CD "Issues" is themed around sex... but both versions work. | |
| KoЯn – Wake Up Hate Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I love Korn... but this song wasn't their best work. | |
| KoЯn – Twist Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| There's no fuckin words, (except obviously "Twist"). There's no fucking meaning. All it is is Jon doing cool shit. Yeah, I know how to sing it, there's no words. | |
| Jack Off Jill – Strawberry Gashes Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I have two differant interpritations: 1. Jessicka is envisioning herself through her friend's eyes if she commited suicide. The "it's wonderful, wonderful here" part is Jessicka lying about her pain to her friend. 2. It is either a nightmare or it really happened, but she may have found her friend dead after commiting suicide. |
|
| Jack Off Jill – When I Am Queen Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I feel that Jessicka is talking about how she wants to be the "queen" and not to hurt anymore. The girl scout bit pops up again, this time it is not her, it is her girlscouts, her troops... us. She will not let any of us hurt any more. I think this song is partly to us, and partly to the people that hurt us. | |
| KoЯn – Beat It Upright Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Jon's pussy song! Sado-masochistic and bondage is involved with his fetishes. | |
| Jack Off Jill – Angels Fuck Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I loved J.O.J. damn breakups. Jessicka is the best female vocalest I've ever heard. I lost my Jillginity to "Cumdumpster" and I was hooked like heroin. | |
| Jack Off Jill – Everything's Brown Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I think that it's about when you come clean about a secret in your past and then everything that was clean turns to shit. | |
