this song rocks. it reminds me of this summer for me, the summer of '02 because i had sucha great summer and this just captures it. and plus im leaving for school and its like "it'll be sad my friend to see it come to an end". the "why can't we just quit" line, to me, means why cant we just quit everything and keep living this summer...hehe. |

i agree with emo12PUNK12metal on the meaning of this song. i'd much rather think about it as a love song rather then a break up song. but i guess both ideas as to what it means make sense. its up to you to decide how you want to hear it and what it means to you...

this song makes me think of how there are a lot of pretty girls who arent pretty on the inside..."such a charming beautiful exterior". but it also sort of seems like a song about someone putting on a happy front but they're really "such a stellar monument to lonliness"...i love that line. i agree with johnson to an extent, it very well may be about chris...but i do think he likes the music he plays, i just read an interview with him in AP (alternative press) and it just seemed that he loved what hes doing. so who knows, really, but anyway this song is amazing. |

i am in love with this song. i think the way her voice meshes with the jazz sound and the piano is great. my take on the line "my heart is drenced in wine" makes me want to say her heart is drunken and confused. thats just what i felt the first time i heard that line. i think the video is great to. its very simple, but it makes me understand the song more. :) |
