i think this song is about having problems, with past, present, and future, etc =P but no one will listen to you, to help you with them, so you just repress the feelings you have, and just run away. like most lp songs, i love this song, and i can relate to it (well, at least my strange meanings to their songs =P). |

to me, this song is about loving someone so much, but you feel they will never love you back, and you just want to do anything to make her happy, which is in this case, leaving her alone.
"i wanna be pushed aside, so let me go" (she still cares about him, but wont love him, and he feels he's just a neusance to her)
"lemme take back my life, id rather be all alone, anywhere on my own cuz i can see, the very worst part of you, is me" (he'd rather be alone than to bother her, any longer). thats my take on the song, at least. i love this song; i find myself feeling the way i described the song in nearly every attempt i make at having a relationship =P |

to me, this song is about suicide. he has to deal with his past, he's confused about where his life's going, and the problems he has now, and he feels he's ruined his life already by lying to people about all these things, and he no longer really knows who he is, so he "breaks the habit", the habit being his life, ending the pain that hes felt for such a long time. so, thats just what it means to me. this and "numb" are my favorite songs on the album. btw, meteora is an ok album, but it, by no means, comes close to the mastery of the first album :D |

i love this song; to me, its about the burden of having to live up to someone else's expectations, but you will not. becoming "numb" means he no longer cares about this person whatsoever, and he will not live up to his/her expectations any longer. love this song, because although that is the ultimate meaning i got out of this song, i believe that it can be interpreted in many different ways. so, please, leave some comments =P (finally, a song's first comment will not be "this song is great." and left at that =P) |

to me, and to fit the structure of the album =P, is about Jesus, or God, or whoever =P and how he wants to help people, but the people he wants to help dont really want to accept him, and be helped, etc. dont like this song much, lyrically, but the music's pretty good, imo. |

this songs pretty good, I love davids voice in this song. so anyways, not that deep a meaning; its about some girl who tries to change the singer, in an attempt to make him more like everyone else, but he'd rather stay away from everyone else, stay anonymous ("im not ready to leave the realm of anonymity"), and not become a mindless conformist. |

that sounds right, just wanted to add something. i think this special person was a woman, whom he loved (he being the singer, im assuming =P), and she left him alone, to fixate himself on the times they used to have, and then the moment when she left, and the fact that they'll never be together again. and, i figure the part where he says
"To stand on the edge of the knife
Cutting through the nightmare from which
I just cannot awaken", that he's contemplating suicide. the edge of the knife cutting through the nightmare from which he cannot awaken, would symbolize, obvisouly, his escaping his endless torment by killing himself. so anyways, thats about all i can think of to say on this song. great song, i love the feeling david puts into his voice in all their songs. |

lol if you actually read what he said, and thought about it, he's right. instead of being so narrow-minded =P thought davids songs would have taught you something about narrow-mindedness =P so anyways, onto the song.
not too hard to decipher, in my mind at least. to me, its a fairly surface level song: its about alcohol, and how it consumes your life when you become an alcoholic. not that good of a song, imo... |

I think this song is saying that it is easier to hide your feelings, and forget your past, so you wont have to remember the pain, or feel the pain that you once had, and no one will judge you based on what happened to you previously... but, thats just me =P i love this song... hits really "close to home"... |

to me, this song is about how no matter how much you really do believe in whatever religion you believe in, the preachers or whatever you want to call them preach that your higher power will never accept you. And yet, at the same time, these preachers of your religion want you to sacrifice yourself completely, and continue believing in what they're saying, which ultimately brings sadness, because you feel that you will never be accepted. well, i got something like that out of this song =P im none too good at expressing my thoughts/feelings =P |
