| Dimmu Borgir – Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This song refers to a war between those with religious restiction and those without; namely, Satanists against the rest. Anyone who has read the works of Anton LaVey can see this, especially in these lyrics: "We, who not deny the animal of our nature We, who yearn to preserve our liberation We, who face darkness in our hearts with a solemn fire We, who aspire to the truth and pursue it's strength" Dimmu Borgir is an awesome band, but this would be one of there more "Genuine" Satanic songs. Others such as "Tormentor of Christian Souls" I think is written purely to shock. |

| Behemoth – ΠΑΝ ΣΑΤΥΡΟΣ Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The title of the song refers to a lesser Greek god Pan, the king of the Satyrs. The model of Pan was used as a blueprint for Lucifer in Christian mythology. | |

It should only matter if the song sounds good to the listener. I don't see the point in subgenres. And for the record, Trey Azagthoth is a practicing Satanist (similar to http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/dvera/ ), but they add semi-Lovecraft (actually Simon-Necronomicon) themes to some of their songs. |

| Cradle of Filth – Cthulhu Dawn Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Cthulhu is used more as a symbolic in this song I think. And historical significance means nothing in the ritual chamber... Er, read a book by Peter Carroll (Liber Null and Psychonaut maybe?) before you begin Lovecraft-esque occultism. Cthulhu is seen as a manifestation of raw human fear (I don't recall that as being noted in Carrols work, but this applies in the song). And I know you were reffering to the Simon Necronomicon hehe, the guy switched KUTULU (Cthulhu) for TIAMAT sometimes, made no sense. I guess calling it the Necronomicon helped sales though. | |

This song truly lives up to it's title. To Blaspheme the Holy Ghost is the one sin you cannot be forgiven for (As far as I can tell). It's also the only song I know of that blasphemes the Holy Ghost, the sentiment of irreversable damnation scares the shit out of a lot of Aethiests. Complete with the quote from Aleister Crowley's Book of the Law, this is a truly Theleman, if not Satanic Song. Aside from it's content, its got a great sound. Even if it was done in 1989. |
