| Quite frankly this is posssibly the worst song Lostprophets have ever released, it is such a radio-friendly song it is unreal. Admitedlly Last Train Home was one of these as well and so were the other singles from Start Something (maybe except Burn Burn) but at least they were good songs!. On the face of it this song seems to be a comedic piss take however i would ask you to search for the deeper meaning, inside yourself. The song represents a broken family, a one parent family a single mother to be precise the mother must play the role of both mother and father and hence is represented as having a metaphorical "penis" as shown in the line "Your mother's got a penis" with reference to the following line "Take your mother to the doctors 'cos her frontbum's wrecked' this "frontbum" is her life and how it has been tormented by not only society but by the government and its tendency to look down upon those underpriveleged. the "doctor" being Michael Howard who is famously also a doctor this represents the glc's favour for the conservative party. 'She walks around proud with a short dress on" her desperate attempts to make enough money to make ends meet through prostitution with no help from the current labour government she is driven to lower her moral standards obviously the conservative prejudice shows through but this id due to the large and very public donation from the conservative party to goldie looki' chains record company as always the rest speaks for itself |

I am afraid to inform you that you are all in fact... wrong! Without goin into too much detail the song meaning is as follows; basically it it is about a young lad pressured to lose his virginity by his peers and society today which influences him to believe the only way he can grow up is too lose his virginty. The song represents his nite of "passion" and his regrets. it is pretty much like "fish sex" "where the act becomes the art of growing up" the act = fish sex in reference to the line "die young and save yourself" this symbolises his regret to be in this situation and to have sex is to grow up but if you not to have this "fish sex" you would die young mentally at least and save yourself but of course abstaining from sex carries the same weight of social stigma as suicide. the rest speaks for itself |
