| Jimmy Eat World – Hear You Me Lyrics

This song means a lot to me right now. One of my friends was murdered last night, and no one ever thought something like that would happen here. I don't live in Compton or New York. I live in a mid-sized town in Kentucky. Anyway, I never got to say goodbye & I never got to thank her for how much she meant to me. |

awww. this song is so sad. I haven't been into No Doubt too much lately, but when I saw this video this morning, I couldn't help but cry. I'm in a sort of similar situation right now...hits home. :-/ |

I am this song personified. I've been in this situation for a while. I have a boyfriend & I really want to be happy with him, but I'm still in love with my ex and I want him back..."Just tell me that it's okay for me to have these feelings for you & it's normal to want to call you...I'm making myself believe in you." |

Kerrang is a magazine, I do believe. I've seen articles and pictures about Silverchair in it. |

| Third Eye Blind – The Background Lyrics

I was listening to the red album while driving today, and this song came on, and I burst into tears. I've had this album forever, but I don't think I'd ever really listened to these words and how incredibly sad & hopeless they sound. It's definitely about his girlfriend being in a coma, but I think this song can be applied a relationship gone bad, too. When you love someone so much, but they just totally pull away, and you're left there hanging, carrying them in the background, and the plans you make still include them. I know all-too well how this feels. :( |

| Third Eye Blind – Burning Man Lyrics

I agree that it's about living live to the fullest, but I think maybe it's more about how he's been living life the the fullest, doing everything he'd ever wished to do, but perhaps constantly running (ie. like a burning man would run) from committments & responsibilites & relationships . But maybe he's finally found someone he'd like to keep in his life, but he's not sure if it would grow to be anything so he says, "Hold me down, I want to find out." He's asking for their help to keep him stationary long enough to try. That's my 2¢ anyway. ~*PaIgE*~ |

I love the guitar parts in this song. They're so amazing; too bad Kevin Cadogan isn't in the band anymore. But who can't relate to the lines:
"And there's a memory of a window
Looking through, I see you
Searching for something that I could never give you
And there's someone who understands you, more than I do
A sadness I can't erase
All alone on your face."
Those lines perfectly describe loving someone so much, yet they make you feel so totally inadequate. They've always got their attention turned to something else; it doesn't necessarily have to be alcohol, but something else is always more important to them than you. God, Stephan Jenkins is GOOD! |

| Duncan Sheik – Half-Life Lyrics

To me, this song is about someone in a relationship & they're feeling like the relationship isn't worth it. It's only left them with a half-life, but when they really think about it, they realize that without that person in their life, it's even worse & they want the person back. To quote something from "Hold", by Saves The Day : "I'm too stupid to be aware of the beauty that you give this place & how shitty this town would seem without you in it." It's all about not realizing what you've got until it's gone. ~*Paige*~ |

| New Found Glory – Boy Crazy Lyrics

I love this song because it does perfectly describe some girls--the sort of girls I HATE. But this song also makes me uncomfortable because my ex-boyfriend used to constantly sing the first line: some girls are crazy... and when I'd say "well, I'M not!" he'd say "haha yeah...you are." It never bugged me because we were together at the time, but now, he sort of uses this song against me. Doesn't bother me too much. I'm the antithesis of the girls that Jordan wrote about. I'm not "beautiful" & the boys AREN'T all about me! lol ~*Paige*~ |

| The All-American Rejects – The Last Song Lyrics

Was this song written for me? Sheesh...to me it seems like the song is written about someone that doesn't feel appreciated in their relationship, so they finally get the courage & confidence to leave. Even though they feel empowered, they can't help but hope that their significant other will miss them & cry after they're gone. Perhaps the person wishes for their significant other to have some regrets about the way they treated them & want them back in the future; for them to realize the error of their ways....Or maybe I'm just applying my own situation to the song a tad bit too literally. lol Anywho, that's just my two cents...you can take it or leave it. ~*Paige*~ |

| Marilyn Manson – The Speed Of Pain Lyrics

Manson writes the poetry that eventually becomes his lyrics about things he reads. This song stemed from an article he read about machines they make that have a response rate faster than the speed of pain. The line "I wanna outrace the speed of pain" is about wanting to be better than machines. |

| Silverchair – Ana's Song (Open Fire) Lyrics

This song is undoubtedly about Daniel John's battle with anorexia. He's addressed it in countless interviews. This song is so amazing though. As someone who has suffered with anorexia for a while now, I can completely relate to this song. Few songwriters besides Daniel Johns, if any, would be able to put into words the things that run through the minds of many anorexic people, but Johns does it beautifully, and the passion in his voice while he sings the words is incomparable. Anyway, it's a very haunting song about an equally haunting disease. That's just my $.02. :) |
