| The Deviates – Turn It Down Lyrics

This song's great...it's as though he's saying that he wants to turn down someone talking to him, he hears them - but doesn't pay any attention. I especially like the last line. |

I'm not going say that Avril is a poser, cuz she doesn't say she's a punk, but she IS trying to be one, in my opinion, if you were to stereotype her, and her music most definately isn't punk. It's pop. But anyway, I think she's cool, her music is ok, but nothing I'd spend money for. |

I think I'll reply to this since nobody else has. :D
"Staring at the same four walls, have you tried to help yourself?" is a great line, it's like saying that the person that she's directing this at should stop feeling pity for him or herself, as well as "Think that pain belongs to you but it's happened to us all"... |

I don't have a clue what happened to Isobel, but it's still a great song. One of my favorites of Dido's. |

This is going to sound weird, but to me it sounds like he just says he's the killer to get people to leave him alone, because of "I am no killer, but I still hide my face, in the coming days" |

Well this is...to me...him saying that his mom has too high expectations for him, and he's saying that he has other dreams, different than hers, and he wants her to repect that. "judged for how I look, not for the good that I have done" is a great line, I think a lot of people can relate to that. Also the last part there, "shaped by god, and my volition, and the seeds that you have sown, but I ask you once again, when does my life become my own?" I can also relate to, too...it's like saying he has follow his mom's religion, and he says the last line with such a great anger that it seems like it's not at all the way he believes. |

This is the first song of theirs that I heard...and it's STILL one of my favorites...it doesn't seem to get old, that's how much it rules. |

Full Thursday Collapse...yay. The way he sings in this song is so damn sweet... "We'll all look the same someday" obviously means that he believes in heaven, and that we'll all take the same shape when we go there. Not the way I believe, but it's still a great intro... |

| AFI – Narrative of Soul Against Soul Lyrics

This is, to me, in part saying that religion's dying, because he says angels for everyone, then angels in everyone, then angels in *anyone*. It's also like he's saying that he fears life, but he's willing to live it to the end, and when the end comes, he'd throw away everything to live again. |

I have Porphyria. :D
I'm so sick of stereotypes. I get called a gothic punk all the time, it's so f*cking sickening. -_-
I think "Just stumble and fall into a world that's over crowded." means that the earth is getting over-populated, (which is uncool, cause I'm anti-social, and I think he's correct) "And you will find me" obviously means that he sticks out in crowds, which is the way it should be, ne?
I do think it's tied in with vampires, it makes perfect sense. |

Lol @ the last part there, the whispers...HAHA. O.o Alright, I actually have something to say about this great shit of a song.
In the track that it's tied to, well, in God Called In Sick Today, I think he's talking about this song. "Let's amend the classic story, close it so beautifully, I'll let animosity unwind. *Steal away the darkened pages, hidden so shamefully, I'll still feel the violence of the lines.*"...he's hidden the track shamefully for reasons unknown...

I don't see how it could be about someone that died, because it sounds like it's about summer turning into fall, and he's waiting for fall, maybe he's waiting for someone to come back to him then. |

To me this is saying that he's like a picture in someone's bedroom, swaying, hoping that someone will take attention to him...no-one's there to keep him company but himself..he can't convey what he really is because they won't like what he's become, and it's starting to get to him...he cuts himself...hmm, great song. |

I agree with samuraideli and Madcappunk. I completely diagree with passionsignite, though.."all together we'll bring the real rain" doesn't have to mean anything about a flood, with "Deadly impluse seems so natural, just look beyond it and we'll find a brand new evolution" means that if you look beyond what YOU feel, and begin to be open-minded, you'll "find a brand new evolution", and that's what he's saying when he says "break free from instinct that's left us all confined", too... |

It seems like he's saying that someone close to him inspired him to song-write, (probably Jim, yea..) and he wants to say thanks in his own way. "you're the reason that I play at all"...so touching. I can actually relate to this, although in a different way, because I've always got so much to say to those close to me -- but never know just how to put it. "I've been sitting here for an hour trying to finish what I started Now it seems every line gets harder and never really what I wanna say" |
