| Peter Gabriel – Shock The Monkey Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Similar to something that Roger Waters would have written. The MONKEY is a human being- the essence of humanity. Greed and hunger and evolution falls slowly and discreetly into these lyrics. Look closer. See it? | |
| Peter Gabriel – San Jacinto Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I envision a young Peter climbing a mountain "Holding the line..." in his hand watching the world from the distance. But I could be wrong. Even if so, a truly incredible work of art this song is! | |
| Roger Waters – TOWERS OF FAITH Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| One thing is perfectly clear here people- the "HYDROCARBONS UNDERNEATH" refers to oil. The desert sand refers to the MIDDLE EAST. The conflict we have had with them for years...Religious war...here it is...he even mentions JIHAD in WHAT GOD WANTS.... and the World trade center...well here it is...Is Roger one of the rare few whose intuition is so well developed that he somehow saw 9-11 coming? One never knows... | |

| Roger Waters – The Flickering Flame Lyrics | 23 years ago |

I wanted to explain a few things about this song- first, alot of Rogers bitterness towards the members of Floyd is starting to subside. I read the interviews and he clearly is "letting go of his end of the bone..." He is getting older now and is finding peace within himself while still retaining his passion. A few mentionables about the song. His "old friend Philippe" is a good friend from France who spent much of his life in Africa. Roger took his death hard. Also, The "rue St. Denis" is a street in France where prostitutes work. the "petit theatre" is a place where french men take their mistresses. And last, a "mote" in this case refers to a spec of dust. This song can be found on the rare collectors edition called Roger Waters THE FLICKERING FLAME The Solo Years Volume 1. It has NO USA release date but the Australian version can be purchased through CD NOW.com or eBay. Email PolesApart76@aol.com for further info. |
