Well, you think that mtv succes is bad, then you are not a true fan. If you are a true fan, be it punk metal emo, whatever, you would support them no matter what. Take for example Metallica. People claimed that they are sellouts, but they still have great fan support. If you claim you are a fan, than remain a fan. Dont leave the bandwagon when it starts to get big. Be loyal. And, for all you guys that make fun of emo or punk, just stay out! Plain and simple. We need to unite, not divide ourselves when the music is nothing more than a subculture in the eyes of media. If you all you are going to do is portray our music, punk and emo, as garbage, then dont post any comments. We people get enough from the more popular community. wow wow emo punk girl. in an interview with Mike, Tom, and Yuri, they stated that they are not a christian band, but christains in a punk band. Oh, by the way, only one of their albums, teenage politics, had very very clear christian messages, besides "Undeniable" off of Ever Passing moment and maybe some other songs. Teenage Politics had the most messages, by far, and even more than all their other albums/ep's, be it tom or andy at guitar (andy was guitarist on Pokinatcha[1994]) |

I have several opinions on this song, but the one that seems to bug me the most is that Mike seems to be obseesed with this girl. He states "I wont even mind it if you treat me cruel." Something to think about. |

Well, first off, to clear something, Chris got the name "Dashboard Confessional" from his song titled "A Sharp Hint of New Tears," where he states "on the way home, this car hears my confessions." Second, Dashboard is a one man band. Anyways, enough of that. This song has plenty of meaning to it. In my opinion, this song talks about him being confused about what the girl meant by that last kiss goodnight. He states that people ask "Hey did you get some?" I think this means that all of what happened between him and this girl was to be kept secret because of some other person. This is where the confused part comes in. The kiss goodnight seems to have made him take it as, "I love you," and he believes it, but the girl just might be treating him as an alternative to a boring or dull boyfriend, that is why he mentions the "'Hey did you get some?' Man that is so dumb" part in the song. It shows that he cannot say anything about what had happened. Something to think about. |
