First off, tomc933 and alix, you suck ass and you are ignorant as hell for saying those things on the internet. For the record, I am Black and I do listen to absolutely everything, literally. However, I know a lot of people who would say that "white" music is dumb as hell, even though I don't think there is a such thing as black or white music. That's what I like to call a stereotype.
Anyways, this song is obviously about masturbation, which IS funny because EVERYBODY loved this song when it first came out, including my mom who still does. HA! The beat is hot though, and it's still great to dance to. The remix with Fab was hot too. |

first off, i wanna say that that i love incubus, especially brandon boyd because he is just adorable, not to mention a great singer and writer. but moving on, i think that this song in particular is about him basically growing some balls and finally having the guts to live life on his own terms, hence the whole "drive" thing. his life is being compared to a car and he's finally taking control, or the wheel, and being strong enough to be himself and living the way he wants to, not the way everyone else wants him to. he's saying that life is much more enjoyable when you are in control.
it's just a great song, point blank. i love it, it reminds me of last summer, especially when i was in florida acting like a pure crazy ass with my friends!!! |

Pearl Jam remade this song that's obviously about a guy and a girl who are in a car accident but the girl dies and in the song the guy is basically mourning her death. he's talking about how good he has to be so he can see her in heaven and so on. It's really sad and depressing but at the same time it's so pretty. it reminds me of the summer of '99. i love it. |
