COuld this EP possibly be any better? i think not. I cant wait for the full length. I think this is the best song i have ever heard. But, in regard to the meaning, i think it is speaking out against the dogma of religion. The bastard messiah phrase obviously refers to jesus. But i dont think the song is anti- god. I think it against playing god, and getting so wrapped up in religion that you feel you know the whims of god(created or real) |

I admit i dont like the girl, but anti avril merch, that's funny. Dont spend so much energy hating her and eventualkly she will go away. Acts like this have no staying power. PS if you seriously think avril is a threat to the "punk scene" or "way of life" than maybe you really dont know anything about "punk" (which is pretty much dead as a scene any way)

why does everything always have to be about a girl? I could write. Ouch! I stubbed my toe and everyone on here would interpret it that i had my heart broken by a girl who took me for granted and didnt realize that i had feelings too. Sheesh. This song is the requisite, "Is this life what I really wanted" song that every band writes when they feel they are being forced to create and overwhelmed by fans/fame. Although I must say, this is much better than the majority of songs like this, which tend to be quite lame. |

I love it how whenever one of these little fools says "go listen to a real punk band" they always only list comercially successful bands such as the sex pistols or bad religion. People! start listening to music that isnt ona major label and support your local scene. Enough said. Ta Ta. |

it's not "real" emo. "real" emo is emotionally driven hardcore that is slowed down somewhat with super emotional vocals. But, who cares what "real" emo is? After all, any music worth listening to is emotional, which is all the silly little label "emo" means. |

call me crazy, but i actually think this song is about hell. I was listening to it in the car one time and all of a sudden i saw the song from the perspective of someone, who was a relatively good person in life, finding themselves in hell. Maybe it isnt a literal hell, but a personal hell. I think the "i am no killer" part is saying thaty he doesnt necessarily deserve hell. I think the part that really gave the song a religious connotation for me was , "But you can't change the letters when the ink dries." It made me think of the book of life, when god writes your name down if you are going to heaven. I know this is a completely discombobulated and disoriented analysis of the song, but it's what came to mind. |

punkchick101 is a complete idiot. Being a chick has nothing to do with what genre of music you sing. Avril is by no means punk and should never be thrown into that category. In my opinion the way she dresses isnt even really "punk" it is manufactured hot topic trendy "punk" Trust me, if you went to shows you would not see the majority of the kids dressing liek that, and it doesnt even matter how they are dressed. kids who are in it for the music transcend the fashion aspect of it. So, i say, where what is comfortable and if you want to spend a 100 bucks to look "punk" be my guest, as long as you dont mind when i'm laughing at you;) |
