this is one of my favorite songs and PMB is great especially since i live in richmond and thats where they started out from so theyre always here playing shows.i first read the lyrics to this song when i got the cd revel and its meaning is just all there in the words. to me hes just saying to this girl hey buddy um this life here and the world doesnt revolve around you,but at the same time hes like well shes noticing that no one likes her so why dont you just come around |

this is by far my favorite song pretty much because it has such a true meaning and what i get out of it is that we shouldnt think about the future because tommorrow has its own worries that we will never know about until it happens.("...head down wondering what will become of me,why concern we cannot see it") this song is saying live your life day by day and make the best of it because you only get one chance to do things right.its also saying that we should be happy with what we have and make the best of it and love is the ultimate asset to life |

what i get out of this song isn't that its about religion in the same way chipper sees it.dave isnt trying to spread some evangilical message, rather, hes merely saying we use religion as a reason to stir so much violence in the world,particulary the middle east (from the opening line "fire,the sun is well asleep,the moon is high above the fire burns from the east") but ne ways, we use religion as an output of violence and dave is saying that fighting wars and all the killing cannot be reconiciled through a simple forgive me and that all religions, not just christianity, should see that theyre not "so righteous".at a live version he also says "your nailing god to a tree and then saying forgive me",as opposed to the album version |
