I was reading some of the earlier comments about how much MTV sucks and all that shit about the bands that are soo much alike... I agree to a point, but I don't think anyone should name off bands as being cookie-cutter before they actually do the research and find out where the band (or artist) came from. That's really ignorant and it makes you look like a retard. The one that REALLY botherd me was Incubus. For anyone that cares, read on:
Incubus started when they were 15 and 16, in 1993. No label would sign them. So you know what they did? They MADE THEIR OWN RECORD LABEL. Check it out - Epic/ Immortal records. They produced and released their own shit. Being on their own label means they don't have a higher athourity pushing them to change their music to "fit" MTV. Their music is ALL THEM, and people just happened to like it. If you follow thier CDs from fungus among us to the new morning view, you notice, they do change, but only because (DUH) they're growing up.
So theres a little lesson for anyone reading this who thought otherwise. I realize this has nothing to do with default, but umm.. fuck it. Anyone who just shits on bands without knowing anything about them is just as bad as the MTV crowd.. you're just mindlessly following along with what you think is cool.. without realizing you sound like a dork. |

this song.. the guy I'm in love with lives really far away. We saw each other 3 weeks ago for the first time since last year. When we FINALLY had some time alone, this song (accustic) came on the radio, and it suddenly all made sence. |
