Switchfoot – Erosion Lyrics 23 years ago
I think this song talks about how the Holy Spirit can erode and clean your heart and life. And make you whole again...even in your darkest hour!

Jars of Clay – Revolution Lyrics 23 years ago
I think this song is saying that to change the world, you can't just sit on the sidelines. If you want things to change, you've got to jump in, join the crowd of people who ARE trying to change the world. Nothing happens if nothing is being done!

Relient K – Softer To Me Lyrics 23 years ago
Just to clarify...when I said the situation made me angry, I was referring to the kind of anger that Jesus experienced when He walked into the Temple and saw people selling and trading. He was angry because they had turned a house of worship into a "den of theives." The anger that I feel is similar because of the hurt and sadness that I feel when people reject God and complain about those of us who love Him and serve Him with all our hearts. Just thought I'd clear that up a little!

Relient K – Softer To Me Lyrics 23 years ago
First of all, I'd like to say that I'm very proud of the Christians who are defending your faith (and mine, too!) I'm also glad to hear non-Christians defending Christian's rights to speak about God and His Son, Jesus Christ. It really makes me angry when there's so much arguing over a song...and it's not even over what you think the song means, but secular vs. Christian music or Blink 182 vs. Relient K. Every kind of music is part of the recording artist or group from country to heavy metal (both secular and Christian alike) people are expressing their beliefs! Blinkfan... you said that God and music don't go hand in hand. Who created music? The book of Psalms is a collection of lyrics written mostly by King David. Numerous times the Bible discusses music as an important part of a Christian relationship with God (Praise & Worship). Christian artists produce music first for other Christians. Their songs can lift up, encourage, and strengthen Christian walks. But their songs are also to minister to those who aren't saved and to spread the gospel like Jesus commands his followers in the book of Matthew. Basically, it's our JOB as Christians to share the love of Jesus Christ and to preach the good news. If you don't like it, it's your FREE CHOICE to reject it, and the music that goes along with it. But don't condemn us for OUR choices. To Jemma, I'm also sorry that you've encountered "christians." No one is perfect, including Christians, and so we all make mistakes. But as Annieneedaband... said, Please consider inviting Christ in to your life...He can change you in ways you never imagined! One last comment on being "preachy." Christians do have fun and can demonstrate that in their songs (like RK). Most bands keep their focus solely on the gospel, but RK shows us that Christians can do fun things with out being immoral or sinful! I hope that helps a little...
