Like many New Order songs this is about drugs. Look at the lyric "Wake up every day, that would be a start". Sometimes the drugs take hold of him so much that when he falls asleep he can't even wake up. And going back to the fantastic last verse as pointed out by roger wilco, its the famous last words of an addict who says they are gonna give up, "Just wait till tomorrow". I think you can work out the last 2 lines for yourself :) |

Jiwwy has kinda got it. It's about a kid who THINKS he is being smart and doing what he wants. But really the parents dont care that much and the kid aint that clever. He gets caught anyhow and punished with no thought. I have a friend like this. |
