With "Happy Product" being sold in stores, I saw a future where money buys happiness, and that is the only kind of joy in the world at all. People are so used to equating money with happiness that the only way to achieve the latter is through the former. The protaganist of the short has become aware - he knows that happiness is more than something that can be bought, but he doesn't know how to achieve it. He takes storebought Happiness and tries to improve on it...and he finds a more powerful joy in himself. He introduces this to the world, as "Bliss", and is heralded as a genius. Bliss makes you see what you want to see - what you feel inside, what makes you happy - as true happiness comes from inside. After many years, he is feeling depressed, surrounded by cold and loneliness, and looks inside to find happiness...but there is none. He has given all his joy to others. Then he sees the children, and he is happy again, because children are a strong source of joy and happiness. The video itself is awesome, and the song just adds to it, but to analyze the video you need to look at it without the lyrics of the song, because the video was made before the song, and the two are otherwise unrelated. |

My friend told me to listen to these guys...and this song is my fav. "Son, one day you'll be a man.
"And men can do terrible things."...that line is just so...my father always says songs nowadays don't have classic lines in them, but I think that is a good one to remember. |

About the video...I pulled it in both AVI and MPEG from kazaa, but I deleted the AVI version - not very good. It is on there, so anyone with a highspeed connection/lots of patience and a secure dialup can grab it...the MPEG is 50mb, so you may need to leave it running for a bit (esp. dialups). I had the AVI, but it was overly dark and blurry, so I deleted it and pulled the MPEG. It isn't overly abundant on kazaa, but it usually shows at least one hit when searched for. |

This song is great...and to the guys who want the cd, MTV.com said it was being released the end of June. I was lucky and scored a promotional copy off eBay. Check back there often - I have seen one or two more up - I got mine for around $15.00. |
