wow. such powerful lyrics. great break up song. i don't think it needs much explaining. i do feel his pain though. i just didn't have the guts to do anything like that after i had heard this song. she was already with someone else and it felt as if it had been too long. great song though. |

i think this song is about a guy that is completely in love with this girl. but this girl just takes his love for granted not realizing how much in love with him she is. so she puts their friendship/relationship on the shelf and goes away to experience life. on this journey of hers she sees and does things he could only imagine because he knows that he'll never do them. not because he thinks they're dumb or anything it's just that he won't ever have the chance to. she is one of those "free spirited"types and he is too attached to the ground for that. BUT she comes back after realizing that all of this and that are fun but there is something missing. him. and she finally recognizes his/her love that they share(d). the line did you fall for a shooting star one without a permanent scar i think refers to her falling in love with either a;someone who has never had their heart broken, aka scarred, because they never get close enough to fall in love because they just use people, or b;someone who may be just like him in so many ways except they don't have a "scar" like his because his came from her when she left and broke his heart. that is just my take on the song. many of my friends told me that this was my song because for such a long time after my girl and i split i always said that she was coming back someday when she realized how much i loved her and how much she loved me back. |

well that was a different approach than what i was going to take but............ the dance to me is such a great love song because life IS all about "the dance" if we knew what was going to happen before it happened we would miss out on the greatest feeling ever. love. this song reminds me of my ex and i will tell you that our dance was so great. even though it hurts like hell to be without her just looking back and remembering all those times we shared i wouldn't trade a second of it to ease any pain. that is what love is about. taking the chance to dance if you will. it's all about chances. not all of them end badly. |

this song to me isn't just another song to me. i live with my cousin and he has two daughters that really look up to me a lot and one night passing by the youngests room i heard this song playing on the radio and i immediately thought that if tomorrow never came would she really know how much she meant to me. family is everything to me now because i had taken so much of their love for granted for too long. finally i am out of the shadows and i express my love for them more and more now. not because of this song but when i do hear this song it reminds me how fragile life is sometimes. it just makes me want to make more out of every minute i spend with those i love. great song. |

this song is so great. country music sometimes can just bring you to tears with each songs lyrics. but this one can just open you up. i just recently seen the video and i can't think of a better video. it didn't hit me that it may be about death of someone whom you loved so much. still it could be just about another break up song but whatever you relate it to works just as well. honestly i relate it to the break up of my first true love that happened not too long ago. thank God that she is still alive but to me i really do miss my friend. she knew anything and everything about me and i always went to her when i had something wrong. no matter what she did she could make me feel 100 percent better with only a look. so you can look at it several different ways and that is just how i see this song. makes me think about her everytime. and the love we shared still brings a tear to my eyes. i really do miss my friend. |

all i ask for is more songs to be like the ones aaron writes. they have so much feeling and the way that his vocals differ from word to word just puts you in the picture if you just close your eyes and pay attentiion to the song. so amazing. what i get from this song is that he is soo into this girl but he has no idea as to where to start. they are obviously great together to begin with and he wants to take it to the next level. but he can't say the words because he is so scared as to what to say. he knows that she knows how he feels so this makes it even more difficult. maybe something else is going on in her life (boyfriend, family, etc.) that make it impossible for them to be and he is just trying to wait it out but by doing so he is going insane inside with all of his trapped feelings and wants. the part of the song "'Cause I can't take any more of this I wanna come apart Or dig myself a little hole Inside your precious heart " to me is saying that he ready to either let go and move on or find the courage to take that step and tell her and finally have her there for him. such a great song that a lot of people can relate to. keep up the great work aaron.

as with everyone else i am/have been in this situation many times before. honestly i am usually just too chicken to make the move and before i know it it's too late. actually i am in sort of the same kind of situation but this time i actually thought that i did make a strong move but something wrong happened. i know that there is something there between us but i am now afraid that it may never be anything more than friends now because of some other idiot that is only going to break her heart but she just doesn't see it yet. maybe she will before it happens and sees how much she means to me. hoping. |

"all i want to hear is your voice" has got to be the best line in the song. and i guess you call me a "bandwagon" fan. this is the first song that i have heard from them but i am sure that it won't be the last. everyone who falls in love with a song from a band that has been around for a while but they never knew about them isn't always a "bandwagon fan" though. i work too much to be too indepth with new music so the radio is usually my first chance to listen to "new" music. although i never heard of unwritten law before doesn't mean i can't be a true fan. all i need to do is find all their older stuff and listen to it. at least now i know they're there. not meaning to be pissy about it i just wanted to give my opinion about the whole bandwagon thing. |

this song is so good. as with the rest of you it does remind me of someone i used to be with and how i hope that she is doing well wherever she may be and in the back of my mind always will be the hope that one day we will be together again. the lyrics of this song just seem to roll off of each other. put together so well. olp is such a great band. |
