in his fake interview at the end of fevers & mirrors though, he told the dj that he had 5 brothers who drowned that way, and they were all named padriac... which is why they got one song. it's just bizarre that he would make something like this up, and support it so elaborately if it has no real meaning to him. i think it's more than metaphorical, i just don't know how far it actually goes. oh yeah and at a sorry about dresden show last night (his bro's the singer/guitarist) he dedicated the prettiest song to conor and it was very cool. |

to me this song is about someone who is furious about something, has so much to say, but of course, doesn't know how to say it. he is so filled with emotion and he wants to convey it with actions since he can't by saying the words. sometimes he feels irrational for the way he feels or the way he's acting, so he gets confused about whether or not this is right. when he says 'a walk is all that i need' he wants to let off steam so that he can be more calm and collected when he talks to her, so that he is able to convince her that it's finally ending, to get her completely out of his life. he doesn't want anymore of the wars that she creates inside of him. |

this song is perfect. this was the first song i ever really appreciated by small brown bike, it took them a while to grow on me... but i listened because of all of the positive things i was hearing about them. it turns out, everyone was right and now they're one of my favorite bands, by far. these words are so pretty and sad. all of their words are pretty and sad... yay for emo |

this song reminds me of a relationship i had with a guy where my feelings weren't really reciprocated most of the time. the words are beautiful, and depressing. this song talks about the difficult breakup with his girlfriend, and he's finding out that it wasn't as important to her as it had been for him. but even though it didn't turn out the best for him, he can't think badly of her because the only thing she ever did wrong was not love him enough. he misses her. this song is so perfect. this song is one of my favorites by sbb, it meant something to me when my best friend and i were going through a rough spot in our relationship... and it helped me realize how important she was to me. although that's not exactly what i think this song was trying to say... though i'm not going to attempt to decipher it's actual meaning. all small brown bike lyrics are perfect, and i can always relate in some way. |

this is my favorite sbb song of all time!! it took a while to grow on me, because it's the last song on the album i didn't get around to listening to it for a while, but once i payed attention i fell in love. the intro/outro are so pretty, this song is thoroughly depressing, but it a great way. I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH |

this song reminds me of walking to school one day in the woods and playing this song on repeat. it is so beautiful and the ending is perfect, this and 'i will bury you in me' are my two favorite sbb songs because of how perfectly they end the albums. when they came to chapel hill, this was the last song they played. unfortunately the drummer's hands were too sweaty to do the pretty & drawn out ending. |
