| Stabbing Westward – I Remember Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
this reminds me of two things: the incredibly true saying that "Theres a thin line between love and hate" and... i had a relationship not LIKE this, it WAS this... every lyric rings true to me...verbatim... now my ex and i share this larger than life animosity towards eachother and i don't believe that anything can repair the thriving relationship we once had.. the love we had was so powerful and amazing that once it ended...WE each ended, there was no fixing the past (we tried to- could we have "tried a little harder"?) no turning back, for us it was all or nothing. when you love someone that much its dangerous because you put all this trust in them, and when things fall apart, regardless of whose fault it really was, when it comes down to it.. the anger on both sides engulfs you because you're blaming them and blaming yourself and your just so fucking angry you're blinded by it. now i try to erase him from my past and seeing his face now makes me nauseated, because he did change, but i know deep down that i loved him once, dearly, and the love we had was good....aside from all the aftermath and complications. people would give me advice like "its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" which i always thought was bullshit but this song reminds me of the good times just a little, a second before they are corrupted by the bad. |

| Ani DiFranco – Untouchable Face Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| i love this song so much, anyone whos been burned in a relationship and sees their ex in a new relationship can relate to it, this song is more comforting than pigging out with your best friend in front of the tv! | |
| The Doors – Light My Fire Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| James Douglas Morrison, you were beautiful, talented, and if I were alive back then I would have had hundreds of your children. You died at 28 but did the most living that you could. all the greats died at 28. has to mean something | |
| Led Zeppelin – Tangerine Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| it is wonderful. robert plant probably has the best voice i've ever heard. | |
| Led Zeppelin – Misty Mountain Hop Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
Why don't you take a good look at yourself and describe what you see, And Baby, Baby, Baby, do you like it? a great lyricist and what a voice. |
|
| Led Zeppelin – That's the Way Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
this song is wonderful and definitely deserves more than 4 comments. And yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers, But all that lives is born to die. And so I say to you that nothing really matters, And all you do is stand and cry. That is my favorite part of the song |
|
| Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| so what if they were on PCP when they wrote it. much of the greatest music of that time, or rather, of ALL time, was written and performed by drug addicts. JIMI HENDRIX for example. he fucking went down on the stage and humped that guitar, he played it with his teeth, I wouldnt call that completely sane, not to mention he died of an OD. but the music was amazing and sent chills down everyones spines. just because they were on drugs, a lot of them, doesnt mean that they didn't have the right passion and genius to create great music. would anyone like to argue that? | |
| Rusted Root – Beautiful People Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|

| Dashboard Confessional – The Best Deceptions Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
this song reminds me of a tough time in my life. i know this song is from the guy's point of view, obv. but after my ex boyfriend and i broke up the first time, we kept hooking up on and off and you cant do that. at least we couldnt, because we had moved too fast and we were each other's first loves and all that. with us it was all or nothing. we couldn't be friends no matter how hard we tried and we couldn't hook up without having emotions attached. i knew he loved me but he was fucked up and we were young and he didnt know what he wanted, not like im making excuses for him because he was an asshole, but hey, we were kids. well he was fucking with my brain for a while and i was sick of being emotionally abused so every time we'd hang out i'd tell myself beforehand, let this be the last time i let him kiss me, and let myself have the guts to tell him how i feel. cuz i'd get so jealous and upset whenever ifound out he was hooking up with some whore and yet I STILL would go back to him whenever he wanted, which made me hate myself more because I stilll loved him , more than i loved and respected myself. it was rough. finally it ended, pretty badly though, but im not sorry because it had to. i always thought each time we hooked up again it'd be akward, since we werent in a relationship and had such long periods of time apart from eachother, in and out of fighting and whatnot. it wasnt though, which was the problem, but i'd tell myself something like these lines from the song to make myself feel better: So kiss me hard 'cause this will be the last time that I let you. You will be back someday and this awkward kiss that screams of other people's lips will be of service to giving you away. To giving you away. dashboard is able to illustrate emotion so well and it brings me the exact same feeling i had when i was dealing with this roughness. this is why i love music in the first place. i have to say i love and appreciate this song very much. |

| Howie Day – At The Stars Lyrics | 23 years ago |

| Tracy Chapman – The Love That You Had Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I can completely relate to this song. My ex boyfriend fits this song completely. We were together for about a year. In the beginning he was much more wrapped up in the relationship than I was. He was very sentimental, more than I ever was, would write me love poems and all the mushy crap. His friends said I had him "whipped" when in reality it was their jealousy and immaturity talking and the fact that they had no lives. Anyway, the relationship ended quite harshly and we hold extremely hostile feelings towards each other to this day. I can't believe that when I look at him now, he is the same person who used to write me poetry and the same guy who'd tell me he'd love me forever. He tries so hard to be this badass person I know he is not. People don't change, especially not that drastically. We were kids and it was each our first real love, so we didn't have much experience, but thats when it hurts the most. |

| Midtown – Frayed Ends Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
this song is dedicated to my ex boyfriend I can see it in your eyes I can see right through you There's nothing to you You conjure lies You'll surround yourself with Everyone who says what you need to feel all right Everyone who speaks the words That make you perpetually contrived They say what you want to hear Say what you want to hear What you want to Why can't you be strong? you let me down and i thought you were so much bigger than that |

| Ani DiFranco – Untouchable Face Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| this is a hit-the-spot song to listen to in the aftermath of a breakup. seeing your ex with someone else is so ridiculously painful, especially if your relationship ended on a very low note. in that case, and from my own heartbreaking experience i was much too hurt and damaged to go out with a fake smile, instead i blamed him as publicly and outwardly as i could and just thought hey, i'll wear my heart out on my sleeve, fuck him. in my opinion, pain is something we should be able to express. this song is kind of like my philosophy. | |
| Counting Crows – Here Comes That Feeling Again Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
this is just uncanny. adam duritz's words are like words directly from my heart. especially: i stare at everyone it makes me wonder why i can't see anyone but you maybe change and all these faces reappear in different places and i can't see a thing but you. unbelievable... |
|
| Sarah McLachlan – Blackbird Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
the way i see it... the blackbird symbolizes the broken soul from a broken life. what most people with broken souls don't realize is, you don't have to start completely over from scratch to make a life for yourself. you can simply take what you have and learn to deal with it and make the best of what you already have, no matter what the situation. "take these broken wings and learn to fly." This goes with one of my favorite sayings and reminds me of it-- "Even the most beautiful rainbows can be colored with broken crayons." |
|
| Tracy Chapman – The Promise Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| In my eyes it's about a couple whos broken up, but still hold a love for each other deep down. I picture it like a first love type of deal, that never fully goes away and is always there in the bottom of your heart. Other people will come and go but you'll always have a place in your heart for that first love. I cry when i hear it. | |
| Coldplay – Don't Panic Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I lovee love his voice. Especially set to the music of this song. Sometimes the simplest of lyrics leave the greatest impact-this is def one of those types | |
| Ben Harper – Forgiven Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I cant believe no one commented on this song!!! The first time I read these lyrics I got chills down my spine,, plus the music is great too. To me, its about someone whos changed all their opinions on lov through experience and downfall or conflict of some kind, howeverr "inside still just a child" , which is how all of us are - we're all just children on this earth. its about someone who has this deep love for another and will always be there for that person despite all the heartache they've been through with them. i relate to it a lot. | |
| The Get Up Kids – Out of Reach Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| doesnt even have to relate to being oversees. you can feel miles away from someone you love when in reality the both of you are right there. you can interpret this any way you want, thats why its great | |
| Dave Matthews Band – Crush Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| in response to Chippers last comment.. yeah i did know that and you're right but also part of the greatness of DMB is being able to interpret songs and meanings your own way, each one of us can percieve it differently. P.S.i think its really annoying when little teenyboppers try to create this I | |
| Dave Matthews Band – Jimi Thing Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| yeaa very chill song. perfect for getting high to (but so are all their others) ive loved dmb for years... very talented musicians and dave is such a great songwriter. | |
| Dave Matthews Band – #40 Lyrics | 23 years ago |

| Good Charlotte – Seasons Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Greeeattt song | |
| Good Charlotte – Change Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
cant begin to say how much this means to me .. " And now you've got me thinkin' bout The first time that I met you. Standin' in a crowded room, But I could only see you" right on the ball. its kind of a comfort to know that a lot of us think a like, feel the same, just some of us can put it to music |

| Jack Johnson – Bubble Toes Lyrics | 23 years ago |

| Fiona Apple – Never Is a Promise Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| fiona really knows how to strike certain emotions, especially here. she has a wonderful way of putting thoughts on a page and singing them just beautifully. | |
| Fiona Apple – Across the Universe (The Beatles cover) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| AMAZING. i am a fan of the Beatles' original version as well and I'm not saying either as better,, normally i would resort to saying the original is always better than the remake in any situation but here it is too hard to differentiate one as being 'better' when they are both so different. i love the words, in fact i did an abstract painting of this song from my visualizations of it. fiona's version is darker, a somewhat deeper ballad, the beatles is more psychadelic-like. love em. good job ms. apple | |
| Taking Back Sunday – Summer Stars Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I really look for meaningful lyrics in the songs i listen to, thats why i listen to such a wide variety of music,, this song is heartbreaking to me and really hits home, reminds me of a past relationship where a lot of memories are in the summer..this really touched me. TBS has a way of relating to people and situations. | |
