This song is beautiful, and it's definitely the best 80s song of the 00s. It gets me every single time, probably because it strikes a completely personal note with me. It's pretty much exactly the story of my ex and I. After dating for 5.5 years, we ended it, and it was incredibly difficult. Now we both have someone new, and while we're both completely in love with who we're with now, there's a bond between us, that will always be there. And it doesn't just disappear. We'll always care about each other. Time killed all the pain between us, and it seemed impossible then that things could be right again...and now there's just a deep bond, and it's cool. I think Gwen wrote this song about settling with acceptance. There's a sort of wistfullness about it...but deep down, she knows they're both happier than they ever could have been together. |

Hey Kani! It's me, chickenboo :) Anyway, I really like this song--I'm pretty sure the lyrics were actually written by Gavin, so it seems like it may be more of a love song TO Gwen...but she's singing it... Either way--I love the 80s tinge to this song. |
