Bright Eyes – Four Winds Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Some corrections.. "With fifteen cans of spray paint and a chemical swirl" should be "With fifteen cans of spray paint IN a chemical swirl" "While shadows lengthen the sun" should be "While shadows lengthen IN the sun" "I buried my ballast, I made my peace With four winds, levelling the pines" should be "I buried my ballast, I made my peace HER four winds, levelling the pines" "She just can't REMAIN with all that outer space She BREAKS, she BREAKS, she caves, she caves" eek |
Bright Eyes – Puella Quam Amo Est Pulchra Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't hear 'anyway' at the end of the song....also it should be 'you have a beautiful, beautiful smile the way it *curls* and collapses on your lips' |

A couple corrections for the first part. -------------------- Sun setting, a distant hill Hurl the bottles at the horizon. The water tower bleeds from the heat. Can the sun guess my reaction? No retreat, not even in sleep Days with a new direction. ------------------------------ |

The Spill Canvas – 3685 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
At a recent show Nick, the lead singer of Spill Canvas said that 3685 was a date. He may have said birthday? I'm not sure on that part, but I'm guessing it stands for March 6th, 1985. |
At the Drive-In – Give It A Name Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I love this song, it is one of my favorites from At the Drive-In. I think that this song is about a friendship gone bad. "And all because your stubborness was smiling through your braces" - I think the braces represent the person shallow/sarcastic/arrogant way, hence the stubborness. "and i will always wear your ring you know the one that turned my finger green " - I think this is more symbolic than an actual ring, it represents a scar in his life, something done by the other person that will be with him for life. "meal tickets have been refused" - this is also more symbolic than actually meaning meal tickets have been refused. It stands for the basic necessities needed in a relationship, caring, compassion, trust, respect. the foundation. which is why this "you gave me a reason to sing our last song" I see this dealing with any relationship/friendship that could be formed, be it through marriage like JustNotherEmoKid suggested. When one person tries to build the walls of a relationship (foundation) while the other just seems to shatter it. Well that is my small briefing on one of At the Drive-In's best songs ever! I could be way off but who knows. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my thoughts. |
