I hate when people say this song is about giving head. I believe that this song is about the energy at a live show. One thousand screams, hear one thousand voices, a solitary echo. To me this is the crowd cheering for AFI and more specifically Davey. Ingest rejeuvanation demanded invitation- he is given all of his energy by the crowds energy, and their want to see his band. I offer grace, I offer blood, I offer everthing till my heart is crystal clear.- He pours every bit of his emotion into their live shows, until he has absolutely nothing left to give....until the next show (ingest rejeuvanation?) and anyone who has seen them live, even through a bootleg recording of a concert can attest to this. This song should have special meaning to anyone who is in a band. The natural euphoria you recieve from a crowd of people singing YOUR song is like no other. And if Hunter didnt have to show off so much during this song(just joking, he is an amazing bass player) maybe a couple small time bands could cover it. |

This song is about Lucifer. Morning Star is one of Satans many names. "who will be the first to begin their fall, or will we become one?" Is saying, which of us (Satan or God) will lose this war, or will we stay together in heaven? "i saw a star benneath the stairs, glowing right before descent" Lucifer was the most beautiful of all angels, he "glowed" the brightest of them all before his descent. The end of the song is satan saying, " i dont want to die tonight, i dont wanna fall into the light" He is saying he regrets trying to lead a war agains God. And that he doesnt want to be banquished from heaven. "Will you wish upon, will you walk upon me" Will you forgive me, or will send me down from heaven eternally? This is my first song explanation, sorry if its confusing, but thats what the song means to me. By the way, i know genius is mispelled in my screenname, somebody already has it spelled correctly for their name. |
