ummm not to be mean i think you need to re look at zao hahahaha their names may be unconventional to people who dont like looking into things hahaha but their titles have everything to do with the songs.....trashcanhands = stupid little kids who write filth with their hands, 5 year winter = it could have been how long he was with her and it was like winter to him and he became cold and unyielding toward her because she hurt him, Particle = how we are but little tiny things in Gods hands and we are to praise him....ever think of those?? and as for this song the lyrics are missing at the end Dan sings more that arent on here when it gets muffled at the end he sings "you think you know it, but you don't, you don't know everything. You think you got it but you got it all wrong again" but yes i agree that it is abour demons out after Dans soul so i agree with fxmanz. Plus i remember reading an interview somewhere and Dan said that that was what it is about |

Damn most of you have already stole the meaning for me hahahaha but the its not all about the myth it is talks about having to cut away all ties to a person that has brought pain into your life hence the lyrics "gotta cut away, clear away, snip and sever this umbilicol residue" its talking about cutting the cord and to remove all ties...basically disowning and washing your hands clean of this person to allow the killing to take place...not literally just kill the image that yiu have of th9is person to allow you to move on with your life... well those are my 2 cents on it i love this song it has to be one of my favorites or actually is my favorite on this album...along with Brena |

Personally i feel that yes this song is about blind faith...all who say it isnt need to re-look at this song...but it isnt generally a religious thing.. It is really about relationships and the people who have blind faith in their lovers and think that they can do no harm even though they constantly are hurt and battered by these people....Maynard even says on the APC web site that when he is singing fuck your god he is not speaking of God he is speaking about your god which is anything that you place all your trust in and you forgive them whenever they do something bad to you...kinda like the abusive relationships that are around alot these days...the whole album is all about relationships so it isnt that hard to gather it with this one..... |
