Another one of Tricky's and Martina's yummy sexual works. The lyrics are great; they portray the blind lust of a one sided relationship, but they both end up getting what they want: Sex and Money. Martina is the dominant character, showing her control over the sex-driven male. I think there's just something about Tricky's voice that just seduces you...maybe it's just his lyrics...=) i dunno

I love this song...the distinctness of Tricky's and Martina's voice gives the song a really sensual vibe. Martina's voice is great. The rhythm is also really mellow and the "karmacoma" chant adds to the sensuality. I was given a massage while listening to this song and the whole sensation was almost exotic like. This entire record is awesome for "getting in the mood."

Björk – Hidden Place Lyrics

Vespertine is definetely Bjork's most intimate record, and this track proves it. Again, this is one of those songs that goes in my little collection, detailing a moment of my short life on earth. The confusion and doubt within any relationship is expressed so clearly by Bjork in this song. But there's also a beauty surrounding these aspects, a place where you don't have to focus on the difficulties but rather, on the uniqueness and splendor of the relationship. Bjork is so vulnerable with her expression of feeling in this song. She is acknowledging her fear of love itself and indulging in a reverie of escape with her lover.

Björk – Like Someone In Love Lyrics

Bjork is insaneley talented, and I find it incredible that she is able to describe love like a first time crush and make the listener all giddy and "light as a cloud." This is my favorite song on Debut. Bjork always presents herself as an ordinary person through her lyrics, but her amazing vocals are anything but. The harp sound intensifies the lulling warmth that spreads through your body during the song.

Deftones – Digital Bath Lyrics

okay, if anyone at all has seen some of my comments then they will know that I interprept Deftones songs based on events in my life, and Digital Bath happens to be the song that has most impacted me both physically and mentally. I see this song kind of the way that Iris does, in the sense that this one individual has completely taken up on this one person, has reached in and learned their innermost thoughts, has memorized the way they live, has learned to breathe their existence, but has never connected intimately-physically, until this one night. And it turns out to be beautiful, two parts becoming whole. But there is this constant interference that doesn't allow things to be perfect, doesn't allow what's going on to be "right". And they know this, but it doesn't matter, not at the time being. I think the reference to an electrocution is symbolizing the ultimate climax of the situation, but also the ultimate destruction of the existing status between the individuals. In the end, they both give up and continue on seperately. I just find this song to be incredible, whether my interpretation is anywhere near to the original meaning of the song or not. It's intricate and lovely and dark, but so realistic to the facets of real relationships. I don't think that there is any correct interpretation of a Deftones song. I think that they are written in an effort to allow the listener to give it a life of its own.

Deftones – Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) Lyrics

I just saw Memento, and it made me quite sad. Deftones have been a significant bridge for certain events in my life. I can't help but use their songs in relation to my own experiences. When I hear this song I get the sense that this person trying to escape everything is like me, and he never ever really succeeds in getting away from it all. He involves himself in other relationships trying to draw out some sort of the same passion he felt for someone else but can no longer have- "i dressed you in her clothes..." All it's really about is just detaching any sort of connection to the past and setting up something else to look forward to, even if it is only temporarily. This song is definitely therapeutic for unstable times, but it also just heightens my longing for escape. Nonetheless, Chino is incredible and will forever remain to me more than just my favorite singer. He signifies a deeper connection with myself that I otherwise probably would not be in touch with. I find this song and Passenger to be the two "road songs" that help me to release my cares,forget about others' expectations of me, and to lose myself in the unaffiliated freedom of my self.

The views that everyone has expressed are truly depth felt and beautiful, as I'm sure Maynard intended his audience to come forth. This song is my ultimate favorite on Lateralus. This album is the masterpiece of Tool's collection; it's pure beauty and gorgeousness. This is the track that is on repeat late at night when I'm in the car and the wind's in my hair. My mind and thoughts just flow with its rhythm.

Hmmm...maybe Chino loves Natalie, but he can't have her, and he's frustrated. Or maybe the song's titled "Natalie Portman" in reference to the lyric, "you actor..." Chino is also in love with Star Wars, and we all know the world has embraced Natalie as its own Queen Amidala. I like to know the history of song titles and such...
