these lyrics are pretty self explanatory... she left him with nothing, and he has nothing to look forward to anymore, and he asks for an explanation as to why she broke up with him because she did not have a reason to leave him.. but she doesnt want to listen to him anymore because she is off in her new life having a great time and she doesnt want him to interfere anymore... a very sad song |

i think that this song is about how a girl left him, and he really doesnt understand her reasons... and maybe she didnt have a good reason but she just wanted out.. or maybe that she wants out but she doesnt want to hurt him, so she looks herself in the mirror and screams she will hold on, and he realizes that she wants to leave him, but he is so fucked up that she is afraid that he might do something crqazy like in "three simple words" when he says he will kill her or in "grey matter" he says he will kill himself... its all just a story of a girl afraid of hurting someone she loves, and is scared of hurting him because she loves him so much |

This song is about how whoever wrote this is going through life and dealing with his problems… “blasphemy, blistered, bleeding”, however after all of these problems with the girl or life he still always loves her even with the problems that he has because he knows that she has really felt the pain and suffering in life and maybe she could help him or they could possibly help each other. |

i just wanted to add that when finch first started off this was the very first song they wrote as "finch", however, in the bridge where he says "keep breathing to feel something", on the recording they left out a part before that where he says "she sits on the edge of the world, to say she's sorry" about 6 times... however they do say it live and its pretty awesome, check it out |

this may be way off base, but for one part when he says to "try to fix this tragic loss of innocence"... i think what he is trying to say is that the girls was his first before anyone else, and she used to be really sweet and innocent, and now she has become a slut and he feels like he hates her now for what she has become, and how badly she has hurt him because of it... like he is losing it... he said at the finch show 2 nights ago... "this song is basically about going to the extreme with someone you dont like", so it really might not have anything to do with a girl... so in order to really know you'd have to ask nate or whoever wrote it, great song either way |

triple zer0 is right!!! i saw finch at the roxy in march, nate said on stage that this song is in dedication to his "homie therapist" helping through his tough times after a devastating loss that he suffered. he said that the song is about his therapist and that most of the song is from the perspective of the therapist. |
