| This song is terrible. 9/11 and the Iraq war have nothing in common whatsoever! Iraq was a civilized Middle Eastern nation before it was invaded by the United States. Sure, Saddam Husein was a monster, but he kept the citizens of Iraq in line. There were no WMD's. Oh, and we didn't do our job in Afghanistan! Let's give the enemy a two-month head after the attacks before the invasion. Yeah, that's the smart thing to do. Why don't you conservatives take a look at the business ties between the Bush Family and the Bin Laden Family, or perhaps the ties between Afghanistan and Unocal (an oil company) and the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline, and the fact that Hamid Karzai, president of Afghanistan after the overthrow of the Taliban was a former advisor to UNOCAL! This war with Iraq was and is fueled by right-wing propaganda, and all of the popular country music on the radio is doing nothing more than preaching this propaganda and trying to spread an extreme right wing message. | |

To me this song makes me think of this girl who is probably like my best friend, and I love her more than anything, and we are leaving for college this fall, and we'll be on totally opposite sides of the state and we won't get to see eachother every day like we do now, we'll only have a few phone calls every once in a while, but I really dig the line "hope you remember me when youre homesick and need a change" |
