Wow, the Sin meaning really fits!! And I can relate to that respect as well now! I have always looked at is as trying to "chase" down somebody. You would do anything for them but they never give you the chance that you want more then anything. You just feel that they are never actually going to "be" with you. And then when he says, "Would you believe me if I said I am tired of this now here we go now one more time" he is saying he is finally going to let it go and MOVE ON but then he gets sucked back in the sick cyle carousel and it keeps going on over and over again. And then ofcourse "Cause I tried to climb your steps, I tried to chase you down" Seems kinda like he is saying he tried so very hard and is losing hope of ever catching her. He is also showing this when he says "step down from this for good" meaning when he finally lets her go. The pain is just so hard to deal with and that could be a reason for continuing to get sucked into the carousel. Something very small but positive happens which gives a false hope. Another reason for the cycle. These are amazing lyrics that can be interpreted in so many ways! I wish this song would have taken off more, I feel it's up there with Hanging by a Moment. |
