There was a rumour going around that apparently, the Maharishi had tried to hit on Mia Farrow. All four of the beatles were a little disgusted at this thought, as they had all built a super-god status around the Maharishi, forgetting he was only human too. As a result John wrote this song, aiming it at the Maharishi, to get it all off his chest, so to speak. It was later said though, that none of the beatles believed the rumour.
Just a small note: It was actually George that said you can't have Maharishi's name in the song and thought up the title Sexie Sadie. |

This song was written as a tribute by Paul to his father. It was the kind of songs that his dad use to play and Paul liked them. I find it rather ironic that Paul writes, "You became a legend of the silver screen, and now the thought of meeting you, makes me weak in the knee", that how people acted towards each of the Beatles. Old frieds whom that had went to school with were suddenly 'getting weak in the knee' at seeing them again, even they put this godliness idolisation on them. Must have been strange to see someone who you used to befriend when you were a kid, was now crying when they see you.
The bit that means most to me in this song, isnt even written on here, 'I like it like that. Ohh Ahh, I like this kinda, hot kinda, music. Hot kinda music. Play it to me, play it to me honey, would you.' It belongs inbetween the lines 'To be where you belong' and "Will the wind that blew her boat'... |

This song is actually wrtten around the nusery rhyme, 'Sing A Song of Sixpence', which I think his mother use to read to him (John). I think in this song he is earning for his mum...'can you take me back where I came back'. Personally I dont really know what this song means to me, except everytime I here it, I sort of just stop and have a think. |

Yeah, it does have a similar intro to that of I want you (She's So Heavy).
Personally I think this song has hidden sexual connontations, like many Beatles songs. A beautiful song never-the-less. One that you can just sit back, turn up and tune out! Love it... |

This song I think in a way, compliments' This Boy' by The Beatles and vice versa. Its about being with someone who has just decided they dont want to be with you anymore, that they want to be with someone else...the other man so to speak. Its about letting them go but reminding them of everything you shared, times that you touched, and how you will still love them no matter what the outcome...if he hurts you, true love wont desert you. Its about always being there for them even though you may have gone your seperate ways for now. Fantastic song, I give it my two thumbs up anyhow... :) |

I dont know anything about Boston other than this song. I've only just recently been introduced to it... and it blew me away the very first time I heard it. The lyrics are amazing, so deep and meaningful. Its what its like to be in love with someone for a long time but never having the courage to let them know in fear of a possibile rejection. Then just thinking one day to yourself, that this is the day, if Im going to let them know, then now has to be it, otherwise youll always be left thinking 'what if'. Personally now if I dont have the courage to do something, be it anything at all, I think about this song. Beautiful... |

Hey!
Ringo had a voice suited for all these songs, deep and meaningful. He is far from retarted. Sure they had their fun giving shit to Ringo, but he was just as talanted as the rest of them. The Beatles were a hollistic group. They did so well cause they worked together. You can't single any of them out and still expect them to have achieved so much success without any of the others. |
