| Grateful Dead – Brown-Eyed Woman Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think this song might be about the prohibition of alcohol in the 1920's... "1920 when he stepped to the bar, drank to the dregs of the whiskey jar.".....dregs of the whiskey jar meaning lack of liquor. "1930 when the wall caved in, he paved his way selling red-eyed gin. ".....meaning the end of the prohibition. I dont know, just my thoughts. Awesome song no matter what it means! |

| Incubus – Warning Lyrics | 21 years ago |

OK...What i make of the video. I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but here it goes. It really seems to be religious. I believe the girl in the hooded sweatshirt is a represtentation of God, or religion. I say this because at the scene in the classroom, the teacher asks her to leave. Also, she seems to be everywhere at the same time. It does seem to be about Judgement Day. I'm not too sure, but isn't the voice of God supposed to be un-bearable to human ears? That could be a reason for the screaming. I'm not too sure what the 10:24 is about. The lyrics, to me, have a different meaning than the video. Its about "the sickness" in society., and how people should wake up and listen to the warnings being given around them. It's basically telling us to make ourselves happy before the ability to do so is taken away from us. |

| VAST – The Last One Alive Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Ya winter, you're right. other mistakes are... "Though my mind's with that fantasy." - "Numb my mind with this fantasy." "...and awakes you from humanity." - "...and awakes you from your vanity." "You'll find me because I'll be on top of the mountain..." - "You wont find me because I'll be on top of the mountain..." This song is great. To me it seems like a girl he loved cheated on him, and now he's gone. He's above her, and she's nothing to him anymore. Hence..."On top a mountain, pissing on your grave." |

| Pete Yorn – EZ Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think this song is about a guy who is really in love with this girl. He misses the way it was when they were young. It seems that the girl cheated on him ("You Were Easy"), and he has tried to save the relationship ("Only save, Try to find another way") and give her another chance ("It was there if you ever wanted it"), but she doesn't care ("You were never fond of anything I said."). So finally realizing that its no use...he takes his love away ("I’m taking what I gave to you again."), even though he doesn't really want to. Just my interpretation of it. |

| Grateful Dead – They Love Each Other Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
Hey, first i gotta say that i love this song. Itsmyownmind, you did a great job on the lyrics, but they were kind of out of order. the actual lyrics are... Merry run around Sailing up and down Looking for a shove in some direction Got it from the top It's nothing you can stop Lord, you know they made a fine connection Chorus They love each other Lord, you can see it's true Lord, you can see it's true Lord, you can see it's true He could pass his time Around some other line But you know he chose this place beside her Don't get in the way There's nothing you can say Nothing that you need to add or do [chorus] It's nothing, they explain It's like a diesel train Better not be there when it rolls over And when that train rolls in You won't know where it's been You gotta try to see a little further [chorus] Though you'll make a noise They just can't hear your voice They're on a dizzy ride and you're cold sober [chorus] Hope you will believe what I say is true Everything I did, I heard it first from you Heard your news report You know you're falling short Pretty soon won't trust you for the weather When that ship comes in You won't know where it's been You got to try to see a little further [chorus] Peace everyone!!! |

| thanks for recognizing the point Irollerbalde, and yes I can see to a certain extent how you think they are sell outs, but think of it as this...If they didn't license to Epic, we would have never heard their music, thus many of us would have never woken up to realize whats going on around us. | |
| Rage Against the Machine – Testify Lyrics | 23 years ago |

Thats exactly what that means. The quote... "Who controls the past, controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past." is a quote by George Orwell |

Mumia didn't shoot the cop. Sure, the cop did beat his brother, but it wouldn't have pushed him to kill. The gun that Mumia owned was of a different caliber than the bullet that killed the cop...just a little evidence that clears his name |

IRollerblade, the song is copyrighted by Epic Records. What the gaming companies (Activision, Neversoft, Playstation, Sega, etc.) did was ask Epic Records for their permission to use the song. Rage Against The Machine probably had no say in the matter (they signed the contract that gave Epic Records the rightful ownership of the song). What Epic Records' choice was, was not necessarily the band's choice. As Epic had copyrighted the work, they had the ability to let the gaming companies use it (Title 17, Chapter 1, Section 106 of Copyrighting) without Rage's consent. I suggest you research your thoughts before you blurt them out. as Michael said, "They didn't sell out." |

I think Rage was an awsome band. They really have made many people aware of problems and issues that affect our government today. As for what they have done other than speak out about the issues is actually participate. Two people come to mind...Leonard Peltier, and Mumia Abu-Jamal. Rage has held benefits to help free them, as they were unfairly placed in jail. Rage has recognized this and has tried to do something about it. They've done many other things to...by listening to their music and learning what their lyrics mean, I have become interested in taking action, and I am sure they have had the same affect on many other people. | Rage Against the Machine – Down Rodeo Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Fred Hampton was thought of as a threat to the FBI, and other agencies. When the Black Panthers, and the "Rainbow Coalition" began to rise, the FBI and police took action. Hampton was killed during a police raid at the Illinois Black Panther Headquaters. Many believe that the raid was a planned assassintion. I believe this song talks about this issue, and how it relates to today. | |
