Sugarcult – Underwear Lyrics 23 years ago
It's such an innocent song, it gives me chills to suddenly realize that this is about murder... Realizing that, since I'd never stopped to think about it (thanks pritty), the whole song kind of takes on this menacing feel. The music and tone of voice is so casual, so apathetic, that it's frightening. Even if the "murder" is a metaphorical one (which I somehow doubt), the insanity of the narrator is all too obvious. I like the way it was played up by the sentence fragments and nonsensical wording.

Sugarcult – I Changed My Name Lyrics 23 years ago
Well, to kick off my comment, I think it goes a lot deeper than the "sleep" tune many of you are assuming, although no doubt that's a theme of the song... You are, however, perhaps overlooking the key line of the chorus... "everyone says that I'm not the same/since I changed my name." I, myself, think this is a common refrain to the "I'm a star, no one understands me any more" songs... Eminem is famous for them. In any case (I'm wandering from my topic), the song, to me, seems to indicate something between a crying out for help and an intense longing to escape... the latter reflected in no less than -two- lines... "I may be better off here dead" and "sink deep into those magic dreams/while i blast off in my bed." As to the former, the desire for understanding... "bless my only friend" is a pretty suggestive line. Perhaps this comment isn't really as in-depth as it should be, and I might be on the wrong tack entirely, but I think that for the tone of both the music and the lyrics, a mournful remorse kind of fits.
