I'm not saying it's a bad thing that he writes about speed. . . I just didn't realize it until I could relate to a lot of it. And I'm glad they've cleaned up a bit. That's awesome. They still got a lot of amazing material from their early days and they're an amazing band, drugs or no drugs. It's just kinda fun that I loved their stuff before I could really understand what was going on. . . now I get it. . . not necessarily for reasons I'm proud of. . .

I'm still sticking to my being spun theory. Speaking from experience, you get panic attacks and don't know what the hell is going on. It can be kinda scary. And I know lots of people who, after experiencing these things for themselves, have also come to the realization that what Billy Joe talks about (in a lot of his songs) is being high. . . no matter what the interviews say or don't say. It's not like he can come out and say, "Yeah, I was all doped out this one time and I got really paranoid. . ."

Good job, Jackgrrl. . . stand up for yourself. I personally agree with you. The reason I like Jack is because he really isn't into the whole business of being a rockstar and being all cryptic in his songs. It's all about the laid-back, sitting by the bonfire after a day of surfing, listening to a friend play the acoustic guitar and singing. The line that did grab me on this song was the one about "maybe pretty much always means no." Doesn't it? I hate that.

Okay, nobody can tell me that this song is not about speed. . . it only says it in the lyrics. Aside from actually saying "methamphetamines" it talks about going on a mission, the speed bumps that kill the complexion, the rotting teeth, irregular pulse, the pleasure found on a "thick, white line," even having "shit" in one hand. . . not to mention the stink breath. . . but that's just what I think.

Am I the only person who thinks that most of the Green Day songs are about methamphetamines and being strung out? "My mind is set on overdrive. . ." Hello!!
