Tool – Eulogy Lyrics 23 years ago
Just because the song may seem to be about Jesus doesn't mean it does, especially when its a Tool song - who's lyrics should never really be taken at face value.

Would you think a cat with a sign on it that said Dog was a Dog?

Pink Floyd – Bike Lyrics 23 years ago
First of, Tool is my favorite band, Pink Floyd follow a close second. "ToolRulz" is the kind of person Tool does NOT want following them. Tool are heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, it is rumoured that three songs off of their new album: "Disposition", "Reflection" and "Triad", were meant to be one song and that song was supposed to mirror or even "echo" Pink Floyd's epic masterpiece "Echoes".

Second, this is one of my favorite early-Pink Floyd songs. It's just so light hearted and eerily happy. Barret at his best.

Tool – Die Eier Von Satan Lyrics 23 years ago
This is most definatly a song that was meant to weed out the simple-minded folk that may start listening to Tool. I happen to enjoy this song very much, I like the guitar and drum background. To me, this also has some of the same messages seen in Hooker with a penis - you only know me through which the things I choose to tell. If Tool did a song about how Satan was cool and all, that doesn't mean they're Devil worshippers necessarily. It just means they wrote a song about Satan.

And about America. It does suck. We have idiots controlling the government, the only reason we're the richest country is because we have Greedy Corporate Slobs like the guys at Enron. 5% of the people control 95% of the wealth. Bill gates has enough money to buy every single person in the World a value meal at Burger King. And he'll have a billion or four to spare.

Land of the free? And now they're gonna ban a song because it was written from a terrorist's point of view? And don't get me started about Mumia Abu-Jamal. I'm moving out of here as soon as I get the chance. England, Holland or Germany seem the most likely places I'll go to. NADER ROCKS!

Pelvis Thrust, Kennedy wasn't the 33rd president, Harry Truman was. Kennedy was 35th.

I heard this was about Columbine.

Earshot – Get Away Lyrics 23 years ago
When I first heard this, I thought it was like a rare Tool song that got leaked, but after hearing it's lyrics and the fact that it has a chorus, I knew it couldn't have been Tool.

To those that say the singer sounds like Maynard, listen to a different song of theirs - nothing like him. Plus the non-vocals in them don't have a lick that says Tool. Earshot - Tool rip-off? Nope.

TRUSTCompany – Downfall Lyrics 23 years ago
I actually think that Peachfuzz, which is more a demo than anything, is better than its mastered version Downfall. If you see it around on a P2P, get it, it rocks.

Incubus – 11am Lyrics 23 years ago
Could 11 am refer to the whole December 21, 2012 thing? The solar system is said to pass through the Galactic Equater at exactly 11 am on that date, and theres also the Mayan Calendar and the pole shift, so some people think somethings supposed to happen.

Incubus – Azwethinkweiz Lyrics 23 years ago
I think that Azwethinkweiz is a spin off of "I think therefore we am".

The line that stands out to me is, "Some think I'm insane, 'cause I think about the other thing, than that one thought you call reality." In other words he's saying, you think I'm nuts because I don't think like you do. The song's about free thinking. Think for yourself. Question Authority.

A Perfect Circle – Judith Lyrics 23 years ago
Some of this song is saying to me, "It's not our fault for killing Christ, stop telling us it is!" As in, Christians who like to gain followers from Guilt Trips.

The parts that say Fuck your god, Fuck your Christ, seem not to be about God, Allah, Yahweh, Jehovah, G-Money, whatever you like to call him, but about how people worship their own personal Gods, like Money, Sex, or Hot Pockets.

I like to think that Maynard likes to write songs that have meanings on many levels, Billy helped him write this song of course. So it could be touching on all the main subjects posted here: Judith from the Bible, Judas (maybe, great interpretation), Blind Faith, Guilt Trip Christians, and how people let material things control them. If you like songs like this I recommend Opiate by Tool, that touches the same topics as this.

Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics 23 years ago
Toolpac(which I hope is a typo) I don't think that Tool would ever do a cover of this song, and if they did it would be riff-heavy and extremely not to the liking of most Led Zep fans. But Maynard singing this would rock hard. But anyways...

I think it's just random lyrics thrown together. After the song was all laid out, Plant had to go in and make lyrics. When you do this, you sing what fits. He just made random things up that fitted, combining LotR stuff (like a lot of Led Zep songs), some religious and some cult stuff. All in all it's a great song, but it's played on the radio way too much, this and Smells like Teen Spirit.

Nirvana – Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through the Strip Lyrics 23 years ago
This song follows All Apologies on *most* editions of In Utero. I think it was their attempt at making a song up on the spot. Hence Kurt saying "Come on Dave think of one" "ahh fuck it" and "One more solo?". A damn great song it is.

Tool – Aenema Lyrics 23 years ago
Damn it, I messed something up. I said "He tells the people to grab their perfect figures, lattes, hairpieces, lawsuits, prozac, pilot, contracts, and cars". He's saying that they'll worry about those in a catastrophe rather than what's more important in life (family, etc). Sorry about that.

He also refers to LA as a "festering neon distraction" which has obvious meaning.

Tool – Aenema Lyrics 23 years ago
Someone asked for Maynard's email - it's maynard@toolband.com. There's also justin, danny, adam@toolband.com

Harry, you make it by holding ALT and then typing it 0198. ÆÆÆÆ. At least on my computer anyway. Now, onto my interpretation!

In my opinion, it's about LA. He refers to it as " A Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of Freaks". He tells the people to pack grab their perfect figures, lattes, hairpieces, lawsuits, prozac, pilot, contracts, and cars, which the elite (entertainment industry) of California seem to always have, learn to swim and fall into the ocean with the city. He lived in LA for sometime so he was sure to encounter these barbie and kens.

He wants California to fall into the ocean thus making a bay in Arizona. Maynard lives in Arizona and he'll see them there. I'm not sure about how that relates with Bill Hicks though. The references to Mom are saying that she's the one who will fix it all, things will even itself out and the city of fakeness will be destroyed.

He goes on to tell the Scientologists, fake actresses, fake gangsters, junkies, retro people to fuck themselves and fall into the ocean, these are the peope that made him hate LA.

The best line to this song is
"Time to bring it down again
Don't just call me pessimist
Try and read between the lines"

This could be saying that you'll never fully get rid of those people he cursed out, because they'll remerge in some other city.

All in all a very great song.
