Hey everyone. I just want to say that this song is great. It's so beautiful. The Crows have made yet another masterpeice. When I first listened to this song, I fell in love with it right away. The way the trumpet is and the tune go perfect together. This song reminds me of me an my B/F. He's really sweet and we bought this CD together. I'm not too sure what the song itself means, but I know it has a probably bittersweet meaning.

agreed shadowcml. I mean, I don't want to pick a fight with anyone I'm just saying, if you're a "new fan" thats great, just really listen to them. I think a good test to see if you REALLY like a band is to put their CD in and just listen to it....completely. Don't skip around to songs that are played on the radio or anything. Then see how you liked ALL the songs and if you could even listen to it all the way through. It's what I did to see if I really liked them. Found out i'm pretty much a die hard fan. I love these guys! I haven't heard much of their really old stuff (uplift mofo party) but I think I should. Thanks shadowcml! Love y'all!

I am such a damn sucker for the chili peppers! I love them so much and I'm really happy that this CD is probably leaning more towards their BloodSugarSexMagik days. BSSM is, I think (just a personal opinion) is the best CD they put out. One Hot minute is pretty awesome too....... wait, what the heck am I saying??? All RHCP's CD's are awesome. Anyway, I'm just soooo extremely excited about "By The Way" being released. Oh, and also, it gets released July 8th everywhere but America....it's out July 9th here in the U.S. (in case any of you wanted to know.) This song is really good. I like the guitar in it. Even though the lyrics don't make much sense, I love it. On BSSM some lyrics don't make much sense. I love the way they write.......

This song is an awesome song and I love it so much. They play it on the radio a lot but I still don't think Jimmy Eat World is "selling out" or anything. Yeah...sometimes it DOES get kind of annoying when DJ's play a song over and over and over.....I love Jimmy Eat World and think they are awesome.

This song is such a beautiful song. I became obsessed with it when I was in 4th or 5th grade..can't remember. Anyway, I saw the music video one night and never really figured it out till this year. I'm so happy I did though. The lyrics are so sweet! Where he says in the chourus "Am i right side up or upside down".....I think that lyric is so beautiful and so sweet! I mean, any girl would want to hear their boyfriend play it for them. I know I would :-) It's just really beautiful and sweet. The music is really awesome too. This song is one of the most beautifuly written, musically gorgeous, and amazing songs I have ever heard in my life. I can never listen to this song enough. It always puts me in a good mood and a mood to be with somebody I love. I don't know if this song makes anybody else want to be with "a special some one" but it does for me. The song is just so romantic and makes you really think about love and stuff like that.
Oh, and somebody said something about the whole part in a live version where he says "I'll be your dixie chicken if you'll be my tennessee lamb" thats a lyric from a song by The Band. Just thought I'd say that. It's an awesome lyric though huh?
Anyway, I love this song and it's great. It does have to do with lust but also deep love I think.

I've only heard the song once but I fell in love with it...my brother then took the CD away and moved to Maine so I don't have the song anymore. Anyway, I think that Dave was probably depressed or at least not in the best of spirits when he wrote this song. It makes a lot of sense though. Maybe it's trying to be something you aren't or trying to change the kind of person you are. I'm not sure but just by reading the lyrics, this song is great. I love DMB.

My b/f made me this CD and I found this song...God, it's so gorgeous. Everytime I hear it, it makes me cry or at least get teary eyed. It reminds me of him too. We always have these late night convo's till 2 a.m. and I always listen to this song. It's crazy how much power songs can have on people! This song is one of THE BEST songs I have ever heard. One time I was coming back from a basketball game and I listened to that song 24+ times (I lost track at 24...the town was in the middle of nowhere....anyway...) I couldn't stop listening to it. It makes me think, makes me sad, but also incredibly happy. I think it's about the same thing StongRay thinks. I just heard about what it was about too. This song is an awesome song and it means so much to me.

This song could be about a misscarriage(i have no idea how to spell it, sorry) I don't know though. Because it says "Are you wasting away in your skin" and also it mentions a womb. The mom would be horribly sad and maybe thats why it says "Can you bear not to share with your child...drifting and floating and fading away." I think this song is sad and deep too. Just my thought. Me and my friend have been pretty dang obsessed with the Chili Peppers for a long time now. We always listen to their songs over and over, trying to figure out what they mean. We've come up with some theories. First, it could be about taking a girls virginity for the fun of it...maybe. Maybe the guy thinks the girl doesn't know he's just using her. I don't know, these are just guesses. My other friend said it could be about having sex with a girl and she didn't want it or something, but when he says "feeling the need to make me her home" that doesn't make sense. I think it definately has something to do with sex. Maybe not but I think so.
