The Columbine shooting was a terrible thing that happened to the 12 students, one teacher, and two gunmen. I will never forget watching the news on April 20th, 1999, and wondering why God would let such a thing happen. That day I cried so hard I couldn't sleep. I saw tapes of security footage from the library and cafeteria and was horrified by the things shown. But I had to remember that God made things happen for reasons, even the ones we can't even try to understand. I'm just glad there are people out there talented enough to make music that grasps onto the feeling that we all feel when we see things like this happen. Thank God we have those people, because I don't know if any of us would get on better without songs like these to comfort us through the hard times. To the 12 who died that day, I told you we'd make it to the sunshine some day, you just got there a little quicker. The good die young. To the one teacher, may God bless you and your suffering students. To Eric and Dylan, I'm sorry you couldn't open your eyes and see how much Christ loved you. And to all of those who felt the same pain and suffering I felt, remember that God is with us forever. |

I absolutely love this song. Cassie was a very inspiring person. I look up to her not only as a martyr, but as a regular person. Long before she was ever in the position to answer the question that cost her life, she was going down a similar path of her murders. She changed, though. And we all know that if Cassie can do it, anyone can. To all 13 of you who died and the countless who were injured, God bless you. I told you we'd make it to the sunshine someday, you just got there a little quicker. And to Eric and Dylan, why did you think it was so great to hurt so many people, including yourselves? I really don't understand how people could be so cruel, and how only two sophmores at a highschool could cause so much damage. To all those who have felt the way I've felt, and had the same pain I've had in their hearts, I'll pray for you. And never forget, the good die young... |

the song IS about the columbine shooting. every time i hear it, i have to start crying, especially on the part 'fall on the mercy hear yourself pray, won't you send me?' anyone who knows of the life of Cassie Bernall or of the Columbine shooting, please listen to this song, it really helps get through all the shit that's been happening in the world lately. this song is awesome. ever time i hear it, i think of the things gone wrong in the world, like the 9/11 tradgedy and the Columbine shooting. Last April a really close friend of mine died, and at his funeral (like what a lot of you already said) they played this song, not only because it was his favorite song, but while listening to it he jumped off of a building.

This song makes me cry almost everytime i listen to it. This should be a song where alot of other people can hear it. It is so sad and touching it would make anyone cry. The Columbine is something that no one should forget about and this song definately makes it mark it my heart. |

this song is awesome. its almost scary how much it relates to the world 2day. it kindof does sound a lot like sept. 11th stuff, and the war going on, and the struggle for a cure for cancer. of course it could mean a lot of other things, but i dunno, it just sounds like thats what it would b about. great song, though! :) |
