i have a different take on the line "i'm calling this home but it's not even close." i think it is about getting too comfortable in the world and forgetting our residence on earth is only temporary...our real home is eternal in heaven (or hell sadly for some). |

jiodek, i don't think that there was ever a Christian debate. malli321 simply stated that she wished that the lovers were Christians so that they could be together in heaven someday. suicide is a sin, therefore i tend not to think that the boy was a Christian having committed it. however, i do wrestle in my mind with the question of whether or not a person truely can believe in God and be saved, but commit suicide anyway. i'm just not sure how i feel about that, but if anyone would like to comment, then we would have a debate. i don't mean to shoot you down or anything jiodek, you have an excellent interpretation of the song. i only meant to clear up what i believe was meant by the references to Christianity in the two previous comments. keep an open mind. God loves you. |

this is one of those songs that i can totally relate to and i feel as though, if i were as talented as flaw is at expressing themselves in words, i would have written this song. it talks about a guy, who was deeply hurt when he was younger, and now wants to show the world, and the girl who he loves, that he is capable of being an amazing person, and that he doesn't want anyone to feel sorry for him, and that he'll let go of the past and love the present and be the best he knows he is. |

i'd have to say that i agree with I WILL END YOU on this one. i really haven't ever heard the song, nor do i know anything about this band, but when i was reading the lyrics, i definitely didn't think about a celeb, but rather, that he saw the girl everywhere... like, when you miss someone really bad, and you keep on thinking you see them out of the corner of your eye, but then, when you look, they aren't there at all.
over all, pretty sweet lyrics, i think i'll have to download the song |
