| Ozzy Osbourne – Back On Earth Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Ozzy is metaphorically representing himself as a phoenix. A phoenix is symbolic to death and rebirth as it builds a nest of spice and sings a song where it bursts into flames and from the ashes rises another phoenix. It sounds like he was at a period in his life where he self destructed and rebuilt himself from his own ashes. | |
| Radiohead – Cuttooth Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| This is a love song. A wallpaper life is metophoric to leading a dull and simplistic life. The tanks and war are metophoric to building someone up (as they run away from you) towards a greater appreciation. "I build you up to pull you down/tie you to your feet, and watch you drown." In a sense both parties are building eachother up, one by running away and one by hurting the other for running away. "A little bit of knowledge will destroy you." The knowledge is knowing that someone loves you that much and having to live with it. | |

| Default – Faded Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| i see the man as being blind ("how can he see anything at all since he's got no eyes to see")... and i think it's symbolizing the fact that if you couldn't physically see than you would see so much more out of life or maybe if you would just close your eyes sometimes.. and in the end.. he closed his eyes.. and *that's when he began to see* ... to see the true beauty of something sometimes it takes more than just physically looking at it... | |
| Britney Spears – I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman Lyrics | 23 years ago |

| Cold – Bleed Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
Music is Ward's escape from everything. He takes everything in 'burns' it up and creates lyrics such as this. Everyone has an escape, or a special place/thing that nobody could take away from you or understand. So if you were to bleed... what would the world see? Brilliant. -- b |

| Staind – A Flat Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
the writer has been so hurt by many people he doesnt trust anything or anyone anymore.. all he wanted to do was fit in but nobody would accept him for who he was.. he want's to 'show people that he's good for something' but nobody will listen or pay him mind. It's about acceptance.. and he WANTED to be accepted but he never was.. so he thought there was something wrong with him and learned to hate himself and everything around him ' i hate myself, my face, my world, my ways'. -- ie an elaboration on tool.freak's ( maybe I should start reading other peoples interpretations before I start to write a paragraph of my own ) |

| Lifehouse – Somewhere In Between Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
it very well could be a song about a relationship that the writer lost and wishes he could have it again.. he doesnt believe that it's gone he doesn't know if its real or just a dream.. -- but see it very clearly different way.. i see it as a love that he cant have.. and he "don't want to run away from this, I know I just don't need this" but ultimately he doesn't know what to do.. he's "pacing" and he's "somewhere in between". -- i just read dragons post.. and the first part is just what i wrote ;p .. as for the GOD thing.. just because your a christian band doesn't mean that everything has to relate to god.. you people that are avid christians and such are so narrow minded.. open your eyes.. there is more to life than you think. ( just my two cents.. take it or leave it ) |

| Counting Crows – Colorblind Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Chelsea is right on with her interpretation. First off taking the song as a whole I believe it's about falling in love. The reference to being "colorblind" means that he was blind to everything before he met this wonderful girl that got him "taffy stuck and tounge tied, stutter shook and uptight" but he fell in love with her.. and he's ready to let her under his skin and inside his heart. *HE WANTS* her to "pull him out from inside" because he was so oblivious ("colorblind") to the world before he met her. I would love to talk to the writer to get what was inside his head when he wrote it.. but this is what I gather. | |
