| I heard thrice play a cover of "Genie in a Bottle" out here in Phx. It was an amazing cover. Dustin really throws his voice out there, displaying his ability to sing a harmony. | |

this is my 1st post and i just had to comment on this song... just because every 1 is so wrong in the analysis of it. I would understand if you people never took creative writing or are dyslexic... *Drum roll* The story of this song is very apparent and vivid. Dustin is discussing and questioning life. "and what world have you deftly sold me?" Hes asking what kinda world is he living in? The chorus moves on and it ask about what he has to live for. Actually... he does not ask himself this if you look at "if you believe this to be true" The outro then concludes this great peice of art analyzing his actions and beliefs. Then concludes the song asking us (the audience) what/who we are? What are we doing with our lives? What are our beliefs? And lets conclude this ..."Thrice is this great Christian band that preaches religion..." I've talked to Dustin at concerts and asked if Thrice was a Christian band. Negative Ghost Rider, Thrice is not a Christian band. Dustin is a very very intelligent man and there is such creativity behind him and the band that it is quite distasteful that they are not recognized for it. Thats it for this song... Now to move onto another false analysis of a thrice song. |
