Great song about a girl who has changed so much from when they were younger and obviously very close. I can relate to this song a lot, having lost a best friend to just complete changes in the person. That girl was no longer the girl I grew up with. What a shame.

It relates to so many different relationships I've seen over the years, between best guy friends and their girlfriends, when their girlfriends are obviously treating them like crap, but they are completely blind to it or put up with it out of "love". I really like this song, because while it may seem somewhat "simple" (as the last commenter put it), it expresses quite a lot using only some "simple" words, catchy acoustic guitar, a violin, and some nice rythm. This girl that he talks of covers herself up with makeup and pink clothes to paint an image of herself to everyone else. All he wants to do is be with her. Great song. |

Definitely one of my favorite Saves the Day songs. I love the way Chris uses words in the chorus. "Cause I don't think that I have got the stomach to stomach calling you tonight". The play on words is perfect. And I know the exact feeling he's talking about. Also, "You want to know who I really am? Yea so do I" is one of my favorite quotes. I've felt like that so many times, cause it seems like I'm alawys trying to figure myself out. How can anyone else understand who I am if I don't even know for myself. This is my favorite Saves the Day song, hands down. The words and imagery in this song are perfect. It's about having your heart broken by a girl. Then talks about banging on a girls' door because you feel so lonely. And I'm sure everybody can relate to at least one moment when you look at your reflection and say "Oh my God, I look pathetic tonight". And finally, the end of the song, telling the girl that she can't ever have your heart again. This song is incredible, best Saves the Day song ever. |

This is such a great Saves the Day song. I like to think he is talking about a girl, about how he would do anything for the girl (sing her songs to sleep, serve her, etc etc), even if the girl doesn't want any part of him. I don't know, the whole idea of it being about a girl works for me. |

It seems kinda obvious that this was like, the very beginnings of On the Eigth Day, before it became On the Eigth Day. Both songs are incredible, but I find special meaning in this song right now because right now, I am the one who is hoping and praying that one day, that special girl will look at me, and will see the same thing she did about 3 weeks ago, before both our lives fell apart. Great song though, very meaningful. June Spirit, as always, writes incredible songs. |
