lolllll this is so funny...i don't know why i'm here i was curious if the pop lyrics get as many comments as the rest of the (actual good) music does. bobo i think the point of famous artists is that they are more talented than normal people, and there are thousands of artists that do play their own instruments and write their own songs. they shouldn't be famous if they're going to take the easy way out and stand there singing pre-written songs to pre-recorded music. |

"Hands Down" is such a great song! Every time I hear it I like it more and more. To me, it's about hanging out with a girl (I know, we've established that) and he likes her so much that just being in her presence is amazing "This night is wild, so calm and dull" And all they're doing is laying down together (this song may be about his uh...hormonal urges towards her but they don't actually have sex like someone said..."these hearts they race from self-control", "we're doing fine we're doing nothing at all"). So he's kind of annoyed that people think he only wants to be with this girl to get action when it's more than that, he just likes being with her. And then la-di-da it's straightforward after that. This is one of my favorite DC songs!!! |

i love this song. the sound of it is just so refreshing and calming and then the words come in and perfect it, just telling you be your own person and stuff. ahh...i love his voice, it's kinda scratchy. the "real"/acoustic (i don't know, i don't listen to the radio and i'm going by the video) is so much better than the video version. why did they have to remix it? it really bothers me, i don't like the song half as much. it sounds too unnaturally fast. it's meant to be a mellow song. john mayer is AWESOME, this song is my favorite besides "comfortable" and i'm generally a punk and emo fan. i love john though, and jack johnson and DMB. i understand how people can think john sounds similar to dave matthews but he does have his own sound (which i think is better than dave's!)
anyway i love this song, it kicks ass. |
