Just my opinion, but I think this song is one of the best three songs ever recorded. The other two are Freebird by Leanard Skynard, and Hotel California by The Eagles. Want to know my criteria: All are too good to ever have been covered, they all stand the test of time, and they all cover a few different genres. |

roger wilco, you've got to be kidding me. this music is made to help kids relate to one another and know they're not alone. There are alot of parents who treat their kids like shit. Atleast those kids have each other. |

This song hits way too close to home right now for me. My relationship has just ended and all I can think about is her dating someone else, and how nothing she said to me could have ever been true. Not to mention the fact that I can't sleep. I don't see it as being very hopeful. |

This is one of the few Janis Joplin songs I like, but this one rocks. I just don't know what she means by she let Bobby "slip away". But I like the idea of them having fun together back in the sixties or so. What a great time that must have been. |

I agree with the majority here, its about a guy thats really into a girl, and she's not into him. He then describes all the anger and emotions he feels because of it. I can relate. It hurts. |
