Yeah, I think its dumb calling "emo" bands emo cuz shouldnt all music have emotion.... and by recatagorizing those that do we are perpetuating the decline of emotion in the music industry.... my opinion.
HOWEVER I do think that "emo" bands ie. dashboard confessional, Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, etc. show SO much more emotion in their music then most bands, even some really good ones. My first clue to the hardcore scene was a friend recomending Thursday to me and I was totally blown away by the intense feeling evident in their work. I think "emo" is more of an adjective describing a band that posesses that intensity.... AND IT WOULD DEFINITELY BE A COMPLIMENT! |

I too now join the ranks of despairing TBS fans who missed the tour w/ rufio and brand new. sux 4 me. I love the "mic and the moshpit" and also when the song gets all hard and fast at the end... I love this song cuz it starts all peaceful and happy and ends all desperate and frantic. kicks ass! |

Yeah first of all (Im sorry Spade you were a dumass to post that)but no band writes a song about wrestling. WWE just pays them a shitload of money for the song. I agree that the song is about someone pushed around so much that they have to bring out a totally new self - a dangerous side taht eventually leads to their own "downfall". Man, this band is awesome. |

This song is awesome. Blew me away thats for sure. Did you know : two of the band members were originally in LIFER a signed band, and quit to join BREAKING BENJAMIN because they thought it was so good. I think they made the right choice because in my opinion LIFER sucks and BB kicks ass! |

Hey Silverbean22, I think you're getting somewhere with that. I do think it has something to do with wanting to escape from the hell that life can be (Trailer Park), and wanting to be his own savior, saving himself from his unhappy existence (Jesus). Trailer Park Jesus. Makes sense right?
That last stanza does have a sense of regret to it... I think that the "holes" are his fantasies of escape... and "digging so deep he lost sight of his world" means that he became so enraptured in fantasy that he almost forgot about reality. I guess he regrets giving up what life he had because he didnt like it... as though feeling bad because he had taken it all for granted.
So in the end, is he saying that a bad existence may be preferable to none?
These are just theories, but if it makes sense to you just say so....

I think this song is about the destruction of the individual that is often caused by religion. Also hints at some kind of powerful internal struggle.

I like this and Trailer Park Jesus a lot. I want to see them live now.
meaning is pretty much explained in the tilte. Song about being lonely. Anyone can relate because its such a simple and easy to comprehend emotion that everyone goes through, but the song is still deep, powerful, and all of that good stuff.

I also heard about the 9-11 tribute thing. It seems to delve into the darkside of religion, and the negative effects of never questioning faith.
I read on the Roadrunner Records site about Five Pointe O that the frontman has a shamanistic/bhuddist faith, seeing spirituality as a means for self-improvement rather than blind devotion.
I think it makes sense. |

Great song. Ill Niino is one of the best bands out there right now, and the Day of the Dead Mix is on the Resident Evil soundtrack. I don't like it as much as the original even though I heard the remix 1st.
Anyway, when I heard this song I imagined a story about a lind of outcast rocker guy who gets dumped because his girlfriend doesn't think he's popular enough and thus makes her look uncool. Lots of mixed feelings.
