I agree that this song is about the beauty and power of nature. I also believe that it speaks of living beings transition back to the Earth and nature when they die, thus in the last verse In Flames referring to us as the "mantle and the texture of the earth"; meaning that when we die and decompose back into the earth, we now form part of its structure. The first verse is speaking from a living point of view (i.e. "YOU are the artist of the texture") and slowly transgresses to speaking about oneself (replacing YOU with WE) Theres quite a few lyrics in this song which may undermine my point of view regarding the meaning of this song, but I think in general I'm pretty close to understanding what its about.. |
