Just a thing about the heroin thing. I think it is more likely to be about self harm. If you listen to The Fragile album, you hear a number of references to self harming behaviour. "Tear a hole exquisite red" ~Somewhat Damaged "Tried to save a place for my cuts and my scratches" ~Into The Void To me, the "needle tears a hole" line doesn't suggest heroin. Tearing, to me, suggests dragging the needle. Injections don't tear, they pierce. I don't know if that made any sense or not. |
