This song is about Jeff Buckley...lately I'm on a Jeff Buckley kick, which happens about every three months or so; I love him so much...this time around I decided to try and find all the songs that have been written or dedicated or inspired by Jeff, and in my research, this song came up, and I think it's beautiful and sweet...something Jeff would appreciate. |

I was reading the comments on this song, and noticed that someone said that they thought "Shiver" was on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack...I thought that was interesting, because Chris said in an interview that the sound of this song was directly inspired by Jeff Buckley, and Jeff's song, "Last Goodbye" is on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack. So I guess Chris accomplished what he set out to do in that respect! :) |

This song is a tribute to Jeff Buckley. In the book "Dream Brother: The Lives and Music of Jeff and Tim Buckley" by David Browne, there are several occurances where Chris has something to say about his friendship with Jeff, and at the end of the last chapter, it says, "Attesting to the respect with which he was regarded in the music community, Jeff became the subject of songs by Chris Cornell ("Wave Goodbye"), Hole ("Boys on the Radio"), Duncan Sheik ("A Body Goes Down", Juliana Hatfield ("Trying Not to Think About It"), and Aimee Mann ("Just Like Anyone")..." |

I think this is my favorite song...my best friend gave me a mix of all of his favorite SP songs on it, and this one was my favorite off that mix...I've loved it ever since, and I think it's the bassline that does it for me. It just catches you from the very beginning. |
