i think this song is more like a prayer, or cry to God, to keep His hand on the younger generation of people. and for Him to keep us in His light, focused on Him. or maybe its for us to realize that other people know the struggles we are going thru, and they are asking God to keep watch over us... i dunno, i think im babbling... ill stop now... heh heh |

wow, a good song, great meaning. hes so right on when he says that people are threatened by what they dont understand. but i also find its true that many people are taught the things that we believe, and lots of those people (thought definately not everyone) just go with what the other people tell them. eventually we should notice that we're not perfect, i know im not... im the first one to admit that im not..... so not even close. |

(i dont think MxPx is really trying to force their opinions onto people by this song, or any other ones for that matter.) i think its just saying that it is hard for people to keep stady in thier relationship with God sometimes, especially if they are just starting their life with Jesus. another thing it could mean, is that you need to make the 'first step' if you want to get to know God at all... i dunno really... but im trying to figure it out... |

the stuff i put in this post, besides the actual quotes from the song, is just how I took it. maybe its not what MxPx meant at all by the words... but heres what it meant to me:

some of these posts have it right on! and some dont quite have it yet. as i read down, people put the things that came to my mind, like 'P.O.D is a Christian band', and 'God is Love'. i think though, that even if i really thought it could be about a girl, the line "I believe no matter what they say" would show me that, yeah, it's about God. |

i used to really like this guy (who wasn't that nice himself), and he'd tell me about the problems that he, and whoever his g/f was, were having. it really sucked. so, on behalf of all the girls who have ever broken hearts the way this song describes, "I'm sorry guys." but guess what guys? my b/f is the nicest guy ever! he really is a sweetheart, and i love him. remember though, that nice guys don't ALWAYS finish last!! |

a few weeks ago i was told that a friend of mine committed suicide. i was going nuts, and then i put on some music, it just happened to be this song. i got calmed down real fast. and i started thinking about the part

and i remembered that God will always be there to help me through the crappy times, no matter what. and i felt better and now i dont cry every time i hear this song, i smile and think of my friend and his funny stupidness. thank you Stavesacre for singing songs like this one to help remind us that God will always care about us and 'carry heavy hearts' that we have.
