Swift – feminine Lyrics 22 years ago
Personally, I'm thinking a failed relationship. Obviously the person that this individual was involved with was abusive and controlling...but hey, that's just me.

Oh yeah, bad-ass tune. Straightedge Hardcore for life!

Ditto evanX on the song's excellence and ditto coldinhere on it's meaning.

Cold – The Switch Lyrics 23 years ago
I think it's an attack on someone that Scooter had found to be fake and dishonest, most likely someone he was in a relationship with. But then again, that's just me...

Cold – Sick Of Man Lyrics 23 years ago
My personal fav on "13 ways...". Obviously about leaving someone or being left. Most likely a spouse or significant other. Still, there is a possiblity it was a child being left by a parent, but a failed relationship rings true more often than not.

[minus] – Enemy Lyrics 23 years ago
Now this is some good hardcore shit! Ideal first track, something that grabs you by the balls and takes you on a ride. I'm assuming this song is based on either betrayal or maybe even difficulty in finding oneself; lack of individuality or what-not.

Also my personal fav. Can't wait for their new album. Too bad they were forced to change their name, but I guess [minus.driver] is pretty cool.

Shun – Hopesend Lyrics 23 years ago
"Please save me from these bitter things I’ve waited here to know. They bury me like footsteps in the snow."

I'm gonna be a little more vague and lean towards betrayal, whether it's within a relationship w/ the opposite sex or just a friend.

Shun – Glass To Sand Lyrics 23 years ago
It's all interpretation; most writer keep the lyrics somewhat vague in order for everyone to make their own implications about it and be able to relate it. Of course, the song isn't totally random, and judging by the lyrics, it probably is about a failed relationship. But hey, why must we go out of our way to analyze its contents? It's a gripping song, full of emotion and musical superiority and that's all the matters. Bravo Shun!

Alice in Chains – Down In A Hole Lyrics 23 years ago
It hurts so much to listen to AIC songs like this one. Down in a hole, Nutshell, and Rotten Apple seem to foreshadow his death, and it just makes me cry to hear them. This is a great song (one of my personal favorites), but it bears so many hurtful feelings that I can hardly tolerate to listen to Layne's haunting vocals and lyrics.

Earshot – Headstrong Lyrics 23 years ago
Original in what sense? Tool's musical composition (6/4 and 7/8 times) are quite different from not just earshot, but from many other artists. Plus, their sound is highly polished (in a good way), coherent and difinitive. Earshot definitely sticks more to the typical music structure of contemporary rock music (intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge/interlude, extended chorus) while Tool is on a whole other world. I'm a big fan of both bands, but I know very well that they aren't all that similar. Try to look at it from a musical perscpective (orchestration, composition, arragement, lyrical) rather than comparing vaguely similar vocal styles and guitar riffs/equalization/distortion (that is, if you are a musician YOURSELF).

Alice in Chains – Nutshell Lyrics 23 years ago
It is undoubtedly about heroin. Layne would almost write drug abuse and how much it tore him apart inside and how he couldn't escape it. "And yet I fight this battle all alone" means how there is no one there for him and having to deal with his pain with no friends or family to help him out of it (or at least that's how I see it). God bless you Layne; we will always love you, regardless.
