Actually, I don't love this song. I hate this song. In fact, I know a lot of people who hate this song. Sorry. I always feel compelled to shoot down generalizations and inaccurate assumptions and answer such rhetorical questions like, "Who doesn't love this song?" with adverse answers that conflict with the inquisitor's point/meaning. Something about senseless aureate queries make me want to kill people. I just had to speak against WishICouldForgetYou. Sorry. Enjoy your song, though! |

Your logic and sense of reason should set off something in your head to the effect of "Golly Gee! If I dislike this song, or if I dislike this band, maybe I shouldn't bother people that wish to discuss the song!" But apparently, you're defective. Anyway, sorry there. I think this "meaning" shit is a BAD idea. I like the lyrics part of this site, but, DAMN!!! People are starting to hate strangers because not everyone is getting the same message from this song. People should realize that the true meanings of songs are highly speculative, and are only clear in the artist's head. So, instead of saying "No, YOU'RE wrong, and I'm RIGHT, you stupid motherfucker!" you should all realize that music is meant to be interpreted differently by different people. It's natural that we don't all agree, because our minds all work in individual ways that probably don't match up to the person next to you. What's really gay, though, is that you're fighting and getting all worked up over something silly. Songs mean something different in all of our heads. So, if you think it's about 9/11, or about suicide, or an abusive relationship, or the Armenian genocide, or the self-righteous suicide of Jesus that we'd all like to call "martyrdom", good for you. You aren't necessarily wrong, but don't be so fucking sure you're right. So. Chill. Enjoy this absolutely awesome song, don't fight over it. |

Uh, am I the only one who senses irony? While these people aren't judging based on religion or race or whatever, but that whole song is discriminatory, just now the judgement is based on political beliefs. Not that I'm a Nazi or Klan member, or anything like that, this is a highly hypocritical song. I hate duplicity, and this song wreaks of it. |

This is an absolutely beautiful song. I mean, wow. I don't know what to say. I'm completely awestruck. I've been addicted to this song since I first heard it, and I think that John Mayer is an absolutely amazing musician. Oh, yeah...And I was reading something somewhere, and one of John's idols is Dave Matthews, which might explain the similarities. |

Hahaha. I've got the same thing to say as everyone else...This song is my life in lyrical form. Hahaha. The song's lyrics are sad-ish, but you can't help but kind of grin when you hear it, because it's one of those happy poppy punk songs that's chock full of cliches, designed to make you hyper and jumpy. Ok, so everyone can "relate" to it, so that gives it kind of a manufactured quality. But you can't help but love it all the same. |
