One of my close friends killed himself two years ago, and listening to this song was a way I could get out my feelings, most of which I didn't understand. The Offspring has a talent for making their music sound great, so that's enough, but if you listen to the lyrics, most of them are really deep and have a personal meaning. This song still makes me cry, but it helped me deal, and I'm glad Dexter is putting out such great poetry.

I love all of the Pumpkins' songs, but this is definitely my favorite. I think this song can be interpreted many different ways. I think Billy wrote about someone who was killing themself, and when they looked back on it, they realized how beautiful life really is. In the line, "And I knew the meaning of it all" he finally figures out what life is all about. and in the end, he knows "...the silence of the world," but he is strangely happy. I think this song is absolutely beatiful, and it really gives you a different perspective on things. |

this song is absolutely beautiful... it makes me want to cry and smile at the same time. james iha has a beautiful, soft, romantic voice. i've never heard love portrayed in a more beautiful way. it's not about pain at all. it's just about the pure joy of love. |

i think this song is about milla's doubt in religion. the prophet is jesus, who eventually fell when he was crucified. she doesn't know if she can follow him. |
