I think it's definitely "kissed your teeth", and it makes sense, in a way. The way he's describing this girl is that she's somewhat of a free spirit; trying to be happy and make the other person happy. It's one of those quick, random kisses you do to someone whos smiling that they don't see coming. |

| Quite possibly one of the most annoying, repetitive songs I've ever heard - right up there with "mmmbop" by Hanson. What the hell is up with there "episode 1/2/3" crap? Way to be un-original and pump the same crap out the the public. | |

S.O.S. = Save Our Ship - from the time when Morse Code was used in the late 1800's early 1900's, rescue calls spanned the gambit - S.O.S. was introduced as a uniform call for help. This song is terrible. I HATE when artists come out with their first single that is a complete rip off of another song. Alien Ant Farm did it with "Smooth Criminal" and released one song after that, which nobody remembers (Movies). Rihanna will fall flat on her face soon enough, so there isn't much need to ridicule her. |

| Yellowcard – Two Weeks From Twenty Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This was one of the songs on the album that stuck with me immediately after giving it my first once over listen on a long night drive home one evening. Most everyone here has made an intelligent post about what they believe the song is about. There are good points that can be taken from the liberals as well as from conservatives. The problem is how many of us fail to see how closely the Vietnam War parallels with the war in Iraq. Replace the 9/11 attacks with the Gulf of Tonkin resolution and Saddam with Ho Chi Minh and voila - we're back in 'Nam. I have friends who served time in the Air Force overseas, my father spent 4 years in the Navy and my stepfather spent over 20 years in the Army and Army National Guard. Let's face it though, in this country the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. Tax cuts are given to the upper class, the middle class is barely helped, and the lower class is left to fend for themselves. Many of the low-tech low-education jobs such as phone sales and things like that are being shipped overseas; if you don't believe me call Dell for Tech Support or look and see where your GM vehicle was made (probably Mexico). The no child left behind act makes it difficult for poor schools to get funding, because its on the basis that if students don't do well on the test the school gets reduced federal funding - how does this help anyone? Ultimately we're systematically eliminating employment opportunities for the lower class in the United States. This song to me represents how little Jimmy had going for him. No job, few friends, and no prospects for a future he enrolls in the Armed Forces. I'm not saying it's not a good thing to have pride and fight for your country, but I can guarantee you that if you go in to a barracks on the first day of Basic and ask how many men are there to fight for their country you'll get very few. The Armed Forces are now a means to a college education for those who can't afford it. Think about it - we all see the Army commercials - they don't brag about how glorious it is to fight for your country do they? They emphasize on adventure and being able to pay for college. As for the "there's still no shame from the man to blame" line, it IS quasi-true. If you look at WWII and read about the statements Truman had about dropping the atomic bomb you would know that it was a very difficult choice for him to make because of the loss of life. If you look at Vietnam you can see (I forgot which) either Johnson or Nixon say something (about ending the war) to the effect of "how do you tell a mother that her son was the last soldier to die in Vietnam?". These presidents had at least some humility about the decisions they've made. Granted I haven't seen many of Bush's speeches, but those I have I have not seen anything along these lines - just talk of hunting down terrorists and securing Iraq for democracy. There are other little things our government has done - recently a soldier was wounded in Iraq and the med-evac removed his body armor and burned it b/c of biohazard but forgot to document it, so the soldier was forced to pay for the armor out of pocket. Cheney paid him back and made an apology but still. Another incident that rings in my mind is those famous photographs taken of some of the first soldiers casket's draped with flags in the back of a cargo plane in the beginning of the conflict and how they were "leaked". It was as if Washington didn't want the public realizing men were dying. I respect every soldier who's fighting in Iraq, but I don't agree with the cause. We all do what we have to do to get on in life, and these soldiers are trying to aid a country that's been pretty battered over the past few years. Be proud that these soldiers are fighting for this cause of Democracy for a people who've been suppressed, but don't be proud of how long it took and the way it came to be. |

| Logh – Yellow Lights Mean Slow Down, Not Speed Up Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| The title "Yellow Lights Mean Slow Down, Not Speed Up" related to the song pretty closely. The message I get from this song is that life's going too fast, and he wants to slow down and enjoy it..."there's a bad unkind thing in the air tonight" could be the future...and the neons could be a metaphor for looking where youre going and slowing down to enjoy things... | |
| The Get Up Kids – I'll Catch You Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This song reminds me of my current girlfriend...how I'll always be there for her, and that through her I'm becoming more of the person I want to be...I love this song; I play it on guitar and sing it while I listen to it...it always calms me down | |
